Naminoue Shrine standing on a cliff / Ryukyu Hachisha It is one of the eight Ryukyu shrines in Wakasa, Naha City, "Naminoue Shrine" (Traditional Japanese straw raincoat Uegu). I introduced the worship hall from the Precincts before, but this time I took a picture of the Main Shrine from the back waterfront road. It is said that it was founded during the Ryukyu Kingdom period, but it is not clear that Naha during the Kingdom period was a floating island, and Naminou Shrine was a remote island. That has led us to this day. Restrooms available is the only beach in Naha called "Naminoue Beach", and on a sunny summer day, the sea turns emerald green like this, and the blue sky and the vermilion Main Shrine sitting on the cliff shine with a superb view. Naminoue Shrine was damaged during the Battle of Okinawa, but the Main Shrine was rebuilt in Showa 28 (Showa 28) and the worship hall in 1961 (Showa 36). In Okinawa, the Ume plum rain has ended and summer has begun. On this day, there were quite a few tourists enjoying the SUP, and I was envious while taking pictures ^^;

[The cityscape of the Edo period continues for 1 km! ] Special Feature on the Charm of Narai Juku]

Introducing Narai Juku, located in the northernmost part of Kisoji!
Narai Juku is a place of great historical value, as it was designated as a national Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings in Showa 53, and Kisoji including Narai Juku was registered as a Japan Heritage Site in 2016 (Heisei 28).

Narai juku is a cityscape of the Edo period that stretches for about 1 km. You can enjoy sightseeing just by walking while looking at the cityscape.
Restrooms available show completely different expressions in each season, so no matter how many times you go in one year, you won't get tired of seeing them!

Inside Narai Juku, you can enjoy Nagano Prefecture's specialties such as Soba (buckwheat noodles), Gohei Mochi, Oyaki, and Japan sake.
You can also buy local crafts such as Kiso lacquerware and curved objects as Souvenirs!
By the way, the production area of Kiso lacquerware is a place called "Kiso Hirasawa" right next to Narai Juku, and this Kiso Hirasawa is also designated as a national Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings! It's fun to come to Narai juku! !!

There are also shops where you can dress in kimonos and yukatas, so you can dress up and walk through the streets of the Edo period, which is truly a time slip!

In the past, it has been a filming location for Morning Drama and is also popular as a sacred place.

Please come to Narai juku!

Tokinokane or the bell tower which is the landmark of Kawagoe can be seen nicely. This couple was enjoying the traditional and historical city in a traditional fashion. The old style house and bell tower in the background makes the atmosphere more beautiful.

Nursery school and community center coexist "Asato Hachimangu" / Ryukyu Hachisha It is one of the eight Ryukyu shrines that received special treatment from the Ryukyu royal government, "Asato Hachimangu" (Asatomachi Mangu). Restrooms available in the residential area of Asato, Naha City, with a nursery school on the left side of the photo and a community center on the right. Restrooms available in the Precincts, and behind it is a high-rise apartment building and a gap that is amazing w I think it's a sight you can't see anywhere else. Depending on the time of day, nursery school children are playing in the Precincts^^ "Asato Hachimangu" is the oldest of the eight Ryukyu shrines and was founded in 1466. It was destroyed by fire during the Battle of Okinawa, but was restored in 1993 (Heisei 5). It is also close to Kokusai Street, so please stop by when you are nearby. You can hear the cheerful voices of the children ^^

During a recent visit to the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter in Japan, I was enchanted by the beautiful white-walled townscape and the rich history and art it held. The serene atmosphere along the Kurashiki River, with its white-walled warehouses and willow trees, offered a truly unique and charming experience. Exploring the traditional buildings and modern shops, such as the Kurashiki Canvas and Kurashiki Denim stores, was a delight. The area was bustling with tourists. I spent an entire day enjoying myself in the history, art, and culture of this remarkable quarter and look forward to returning in the future.

It's amazing to hear about Shirakawago, located in Gifu Prefecture. It's not just a beautiful spot, but it offers so much more. The village's Gassho-style houses, with over 100 buildings of this style still standing, are truly remarkable. I enjoyed the experience the traditional Japanese scenery and rural ways of life there. The rich history of the area dating back to 7000 B.C. is truly awe-inspiring. The iconic gassho-style houses with their large thatched roofs resembling hands joined in prayer are such a beautiful representation of the village's unique culture.
