The scenery changes even more from the entrance of the sanctuary of Mt. Takao, Joshinmon. Joshinmon is a torii gate in the form of "Ryobe torii". Mt. Takao Yakuoin is a temple, but there is a torii gate and other Shinto-Buddhist customs. In the past, shrines and temples were not separated, so I think that Mt. Takao is not something special, but that this is what it should be. In the Shinhendo Hall near the Jōshinmon Gate, the Great Bodhisattva Performer is enshrined. If you walk a little past the Shinhendo Hall, you will find "Otokozaka" and "Onnasaka". Onnozaka is gentle, but men's slope has 108 steps. 108 is the number of disturbing emotions. The cliff in front of Otosaka was very tasteful. The mountains are beautiful everywhere, and no matter where you cut them, they become picturesque. I love you, Mt. Takao!

If you are tired after climbing a mountain, you should definitely try it. Takaoyamaguchi Station, the gateway to Takao Mountain hiking, is lined with numerous eateries. Around Mt. Went to a nice little cafe/restaurant in Higashi-Ogu the other day. They had a really tasty pork sautee and all sorts of healthy vegetables It tasted great and I felt really healthy after eating it. It was quite reasonably priced as well. I believe this cost 900 yen or so. The place was called Oaikodou おあいこ堂

Tengu-yaki (天狗焼き), a souvenir I bought on a field trip to Mt. Takao. It is shaped like a tengu, a yokai (a supernatural creature) said to live on Mt. Takao. I expected it to be filled with anko (sweet red bean paste), but it turned out to be mashed kuromame (black soybeans) — its subtle sweetness was delightful. Our school is at Nishi-Hachioji Station, near Takao Station. Nishi-Hachioji is on the Chuo Line, which connects to Tokyo and Shinjuku; it lies between Hachioji, convenient for shopping, and Mt. Takao, rich in nature. It was ranked first in the recently announced "Most Livable Cities" ranking. With many supermarkets and hospitals and low rent, it comes highly recommended 😊.
