The Flower Path Leading to Mori Yume There is a road that continues from the main entrance of Hotel Rimu to the national highway. In early August, the flower beds along that road were in full bloom. The contrast of the flowers is beautiful, but my favorite is the white leaves 🍃 While looking back at my photos, I found pictures of the flower bed taken at the end of June. Comparing them was surprising 😳 I couldn't believe how different the plants looked from when they were first planted! I realized that the imagination to plant with growth in mind and the daily care help create such a lovely flower bed. On August 14, 2026, the Komatsu Fire Festival was held in Ogata Town, Bungoono City, Oita Prefecture. This fire festival, believed to have originated in the Edo period, is a traditional event dedicated to the memorial of the village headman who fell victim to a rebellion, as well as a prayer for abundant harvests. At 7:30 PM, the flames lit up the wide fields, slowly rising and creating a unique landscape of Ogata Town. From Osaka to Kochi Prefecture to Ehime Prefecture🚗 I visited the stunning summer spots, Cape Ashizuri and Kashiwa-jima. The sea is blue! It was refreshing🌊 The hotel was not far from the John Mung Museum. In Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, I enjoyed food walking at Dogo Onsen♨️! I had the tempura of Ichiroku Tart for 200 yen (tax included). It was incredibly delicious😋

This is the "Yanai Goldfish Lantern Festival" in Yanai City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Cute "Kingyo Chochin" lanterns decorate the street corners, creating a fantastical atmosphere with the soft light spilling from the lanterns. On the other hand, during the "Bakusō Neputa" on August 13th, the adorable "Kingyo Neputa" transforms and performs a wild and frenzied run. (laughs)

Summer settled over the village like a green silence. The mountains slept beneath the endless blue sky, while cicadas sang from the trees as if they had been singing there forever. Bright flowers bloomed along an empty roadside, leading somewhere unknown. A lazy afternoon, a gentle breeze, and the delicate sound of wind chimes drifting through Okutama made this summer feel a little more magical.

The Wind of Hokuto Pro Wrestling Blows At the end of July, a Hokuto Pro Wrestling event was held in Nishiokoppe Village. This was a continuation from last year, but the number of attendees was nearly double that of last year! During the day, the wrestlers visited the day service, and it felt like the distance between them and the villagers was greatly shortened. With their well-trained bodies, they performed stunning acts, dropping from great heights with a loud "bang!" and engaging in brawls outside the ring, making for a spectacular event. Hokuto Pro Wrestling matches not only excite the wrestlers but also draw cheers from the audience, energizing the entire venue. That’s why the spectators became increasingly engrossed in the matches, pouring their energy into their cheers and applause. The drinks and food we prepared were also purchased in abundance, proportional to the intensity of the matches.🙌 The children in the village who watched the wrestling have become fans, even making their own championship belts.🤩 Thank you to everyone who came out!

【Kuraoka Area Fishing Tournament🎣】 Today (August 15th), the Kuraoka Area Fishing Tournament was held for the first time in two years😊 It seems that a significant number of fish were released this year, and everyone was catching one after another🐟 The children were cheering each time they caught a fish, running to their parents saying, "Help me with the hook!"😆 A "Fish Catching" event for kids was also held✨ The fish swimming freely in the river posed quite a challenge for the children😂 Especially eels, which would slip away from their hands even after being caught, made it quite difficult🤣 However, some kids figured out a strategy to throw the fish and eels they caught onto the riverbank💡 Many families were seen heading home with a lot of fish, saying, "It's going to be a hassle to clean them later!"💦 Everyone is in for a feast tonight😋
