It is the Hanakiri River in Tohoku Town, Kamikita District, Aomori Prefecture. It is a stream that leads to Lake Ogawara and is famous for trout fishing. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom on both banks, and on days when there is no wind, it becomes a water mirror as shown in the photo. According to the neighbors, the swan in the photo seems to be a swan that lives here. They were swimming gracefully as if they were cherry blossom viewing.

青森県上北郡東北町にある花切川です。
小川原湖へ続く小川で、鮒釣りで有名な場所です。
春になると両岸に桜が咲き、風がない日は写真のように水鏡になります。
写っている白鳥は近所の人の話によると、ここに住み着いている白鳥らしいです。
まるで花見をするかのように優雅に泳いでいました。

Naraijuku, Nagano Prefecture in summer. It is said to be the longest post town in Japan, which runs about 1 km from north to south along the Nakasendo road. The scenery of the post town spread out as if it had traveled back in time to the Edo period. It is an old and beautiful Japanese cityscape that I would like to preserve for the future.

Sakurajima reminded me that, as we build houses, roads, and many other things around us, it is important to both preserve the nature around us and find balance in living with nature. There are many places that have been overrun by human construction and I hope that in Japan, and around the world, we will strive to coexist with nature and preserve the things that make it special.
