Drawing on her own experience, alongside her medical work she launched Mama to Ne in 2014 as a child-rearing support initiative. In 2021, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, she established Ahiru Library, a one-box bookshelf owner–style private library, to create a place that connects not only child-rearing families but also other local residents at risk of isolation, bringing together interesting people from the community. She has lived in Mishima for more than 15 years and, keeping the outsider’s perspective, is cultivating with colleagues a place where locals and newcomers mingle and connect through books in this town.
