Coal was once an essential energy source that supported Japan's industry. Manda Pit is one of the sites where this coal was mined. Now a quiet historical site, it offers insights into the technology and labor history of that time through its buildings and equipment. It is also a recommended place for those interested in the history of energy. 【Summer Festival with Swaying Lanterns】 Many of you may have already seen it. The summer version display inside Komu! From the parking lot outside, you can see the lantern decorations swaying in the small window. Lanterns are also hanging from the ceiling inside the building, and fireworks are displayed on the walls. (Amidst them, Setoushi-kun was launched 🎆) You can enjoy games like ring toss, shooting, goldfish scooping, and watermelon catching, experiencing the fun of the festival. When I visited Komu, the kids were running the stalls while their fathers played customers. The quality of the handmade ice creams lined up at the ice cream shop is incredible, so I hope you take a good look at them...! The original fan featuring Setoushi-kun is also cute. Before summer ends, please come and visit us! - 【Forest Art Museum "Komu"】 Opening hours: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM *Admission is accepted until 4:30 PM Closed: Every Tuesday Admission fee: High school students and above: 500 yen 4th grade elementary to middle school students: 300 yen Children aged 3 to 3rd grade: 100 yen Children under 3: Free Contact: 0158-87-2600 #Nishiokoppe Village #Komu #Summer Festival #Indoor Display #Yen Festival

Manda Pit is a place where you can learn about the workings of a coal mine just by looking at the buildings. The shaft tower, hoisting machine room, and coal mine train each appear to be separate facilities, but they are actually part of a larger system for digging, transporting, and supporting coal. Walking through this industrial heritage also means understanding the connection between technology and human labor. 【Visiting Information】9:30 AM to 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM) / Closed: Mondays (the following weekday if a holiday) and during the New Year holidays / Admission: 410 yen for adults and university students, 310 yen for high school students, 210 yen for elementary and middle school students / Manda Pit Station (free exhibition room and ticket sales) #Coal Mine Mechanisms #Arao City Tourism #Miike Coal Mine #Industrial Heritage #Modern Industrial Heritage #History of Technology #Educational Travel #Historical Studies #Manda Coal Mine #Arao City #Kumamoto #Japan Travel #Visit Japan #World Heritage #Industrial Heritage #Educational Travel

[Activity Report] We held a rice planting monitoring tour at the Sky Terraced Rice Fields in Reihoku on April 19th.🧑‍🌾

Hello everyone, this is the Amakusa Reihoku Tourist Association.

On Sunday, April 19th, we conducted the "Reihoku Sky Terraced Rice Fields Rice Planting Monitoring Tour."
Although it was a light rain on the day, working in the fog-shrouded, magical rice terraces provided a deep and tranquil experience, different from sunny days.

■Experience the abundant "daily life of farmers"
During this tour, participants not only planted rice but also harvested fresh asparagus and experienced shiitake mushroom inoculation.
🌾Rice Planting: Enjoying the feel of the cold mud, step by step. Planting seedlings in the fog allowed for a pleasant concentration.
Asparagus Harvest: Picking the fresh asparagus on-site. The joy of harvesting blew away the fatigue of work.
🍄‍🟫Shiitake Inoculation: The sound of tapping on the wood echoed in the rainy rice terraces. We also experienced this long-lasting job while thinking about the harvest.

■Lunch time accompanied by the "sound of rain"
We enjoyed our lunch under the roof, with the sound of rain as our background music.

We will take the feedback from this monitoring tour to gradually implement various experience menus.
Thank you very much to everyone who participated, especially in the rain!
