開智国際日本語学校(Kaichi International School of Japanese)

On March 24, I participated in the 3rd Multicultural Photography Exhibition held at Tokyo Tama Mirai Messe, a 5-minute walk from Hachioji Station. Students from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Mongolia introduced the cultures of their respective countries. In addition, Bangladeshi students were in charge of a corner called mehendi, where they drew pictures by hand, and it was so popular that there was ✨ a line

I went to the "Muttoni World Exhibition" held at the Museum of Dreams, which is a 20-minute walk from Hachioji Station. This is my third time at my favorite exhibition! At the "Muttoni World Exhibition", there are many karakuri music boxes on display, and each box takes about 5~20 minutes. By the time I finished watching the whole thing, two hours had passed, but I had a strange feeling that I was in a dream the whole time. A picture is worth a thousand words! Children up to junior high school students can watch for free, adults can watch for 750 yen, and people over 65 years old can watch for 350 yen. I highly recommend that you take a ✨ look!!

Do you know Myanmar rock-paper-scissors? Myanmar rock-paper-scissors is said to be fought with "tigers", "police" and "guns". Tigers are strong against the police, but weak against guns. The police are vulnerable to tigers, but they are strong with guns (because they can control the guns). Guns are weak against the police, but they are strong against tigers. That's the power relationship! ?? ♀️? The photo on the left is a police pose, and the one on the right is a tiger pose! Students from Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Mongolia study at our school. The students get along very well across borders and respect each other's cultures. ?

A 5-minute walk from Hachioji Station, we went to the Sri Lankan restaurant "Ceylon Green" behind Don Quijote. The building itself has a very unique shape, and many people are reminded of Minecraft's Nether Fortress. This time I ate a Sri Lankan B-grade gourmet called "Kottu". Kottu is a dish of noodles made of wheat flour with vegetables. It was a little spicy than other Hachioji restaurants I had eaten at before, so the sweetness and carbonation of ginger beer (Sri Lankan juice) was pleasant to the mouth. The number of Sri Lankan students has also increased at our school, so we are very happy to have a Sri Lankan restaurant in Hachioji. ? I'm going to try another dish.

Today, I would like to introduce you to Hachioji's super famous café "Papelburg". This café features an interior inspired by southern Germany, where you can enjoy delicious coffee and desserts. What I received this time is a seasonal parfait. This parfait not only has an artistic look, but also layers of jelly and cream that make the seasonal fruit even more delicious. The interior is designed by a professor from Tama Art University, and no matter which seat you sit in, you will find wonderful discoveries. You can take a bus from Hachioji Station. It's a little far from the station, but it was a café worth a visit!

The other day, I went to Hachihaku with a group of new students. The official name of "Hachihaku" is "Kuwato Japan Heritage Center Hachioji Museum", and it is a museum where you can learn about the culture and history of Hachioji. At "Hachihaku", we had a car doll experience and weaving experience. Since it is located right in front of Hachioji Station, it seems to be very popular as a facility that you can easily go to.

Today, I would like to introduce "Fuya Bread", which has been in Hachioji for more than 100 years. This shop is a 2-minute walk from Hachioji station. It's a very personal story, but it's also the bakery where my grandmother, who passed away two years ago at the age of 99, used to eat when she was a child. My grandmother told me that she used to eat anpan a lot, so I bought anpan and three loaves of bread. The bread was small in size and had a very nostalgic earthy taste. There are so many international students who get addicted to Japanese bread and get fat. There are many ?✨ unique shops such as popular melon bakeries and traditional bakeries in Hachioji.

I would like to introduce you to the "Ramen and Tsukemen Specialty Store Original Toshiratei Binbin Main Store" in front of the school. This is a ramen with plenty of onions, just like the Hachioji ramen I introduced earlier. Even when I visited, the store was so popular with foreigners that you could hear languages other than Japanese. Also, since it is a famous store, I have heard that there are many celebrity regulars. Our school has a dormitory on the upper floor of the school. Students who got stuck in "bottles" often said that they go to eat! You're ✨ lucky to have a delicious ramen shop in front of your school.

Today, I would like to introduce a little about the characteristics of our school. Our school has some special classes other than using textbooks. Extensive... At our school, there is a reading time called "Extensive Reading". By interacting with Japanese books and enjoying them, you will naturally improve your Japanese language skills. They may also create pops about books they read extensively and post them at local libraries. Philosophical dialogue ... This is a class where students think in Japanese and make presentations in Japanese. Listening to other students' opinions broadens your horizons. Presentation competition... Present about the problems and current situation in your country. This event, which invites guests from outside and presents it once every six months, has become a major event, taking about two months to prepare. All of our faculty members have teaching experience at universities. It can be said that the biggest feature is that you can experience academic classes while at a Japanese language school. Class observation and entrance examination information are available at any time. Please feel free to contact us.

In the station building "Cereo Hachioji" of Hachioji station, there is a Vietnamese restaurant called "Jasmine Palace". Vietnamese food is "Pho", but this restaurant is not only where you can eat pho but also various rare Vietnamese dishes. In addition, most of the dishes are set menu, and it is attractive that you can enjoy various dishes little by little. I ordered banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich) and Vietnamese fried rice on this day. The tea is lotus tea, and the dessert chai (Vietnamese zenzai?) ✨ Vietnamese students who graduated from our school also ? used it from time to time Hachioji Recently, the number of restaurants in Southeast Asia has increased. The students are also very happy to be able to enjoy the taste of their hometown near the school!

There is "TAKAO 599 MUSEUM" on the road from Mt. Takao Station to the cable car platform. In this facility, you can see specimens of insects and creatures that live in the Mt. Takao. In addition, projection mapping is used once an hour to introduce the goodness of Mt. Takao. There is also a café where you can ☕ drink delicious coffee while looking at natureOur students and I have seen specimens, but the Sri Lankan students were very impressed ? that they had never had a chance to see it before Mt. Takao There are many rare creatures living there. I think it is a very good experience for students to study in such a place rich in nature.
