From the summit of Mt. Takao in Hachioji City, you can see "Diamond Fuji" as the sun sinks into the crater of Mt. Fuji, which has been registered as a World Heritage Site, on December 17 (Sat) ~ 25 (Sun), 2022 (around the winter solstice in December every year). It is a precious and mysterious sight that can only be seen for a few days in one year, even for a few minutes. You can see Diamond Fuji depending on the weather, so please check the weather forecast before visiting. Mt. Takao can be reached in one hour from central Tokyo, and there are cable cars and lifts to the mountainside, so you can easily visit it. It is very cold in winter now, so please wear warm clothes.

[English/Japanese] Tengu-yaki, a souvenir I bought on a field trip to Mt. Takao. It is shaped like a tengu, a demon said to live in Mt. I thought the filling was red bean paste, but it was made of crushed black beans, and the elegant sweetness was very delicious. Our school is located at Nishi-Hachioji Station, next to Takao Station. It took first place in the recently announced "Really Comfortable City to Live in Ranking". Nishi-Hachioji is located along the Chuo Line, which connects to Tokyo and Shinjuku, between Hachioji, which is convenient for shopping, and Takao, which is rich in nature. It is recommended for its many supermarkets and hospitals, and inexpensive rent ?. The souvenir "tengu yaki" that I got when I went on an excursion to Mt. Takao. [English/Japanese] Hachioji is famous for Mt. Takao. Takao can be seen from the school. The other day I went up Mt. Takao on a school excursion. The autumn leaves were still in full bloom and the view from the lift was very nice. You can also enjoy the scenery on the way to the top of the mountain, including discovering a rare cedar tree. It was a beautiful day, so we could see Mt. I recommend visiting on weekdays when there are fewer people. Speaking of Hachioji, Mt. Takao is famous. Mt. Takao can also be seen from the school. Chiba Kamogawa Onsen Rian. At Rian, you can enjoy the special salt with the strong steak at dinner. All of this salt is made by hand in Katsuura and is often backordered. Salt made with seawater on the day of the full moon "Full Moon Hour". This salt impressed the board length. Please enjoy it with delicious meat. Made with seawater assembled on the day of the new moon, the "New Moon Hour" has a completely different taste from the time of the full moon. Strange, isn't it? At Lian, the new moon tick is also served to customers for tasting. Please ask the staff. There is no souvenir corner yet, but we sell this salt and the proprietress's recommended "warabi mochi" that you enjoy at check-in. This product is not for sale in the store. It is a dish that is sure to be appreciated as a souvenir! !! Warabi mochi 6pcs ¥1,800 Salt 100g ¥1,300

[English/Japanese] Across the street from the school is Koujiya Hachioji, a store specializing in rice koji. Rice koji is rice malt, which is made by propagating fungi on cooked rice, and is used in a variety of Japanese dishes. It was very cold in Hachioji today, so I ordered a rice koji smoothie (hot). The gentle sweetness made my cold body feel warm and refreshed. In Japan, both adults and children often drink amazake, which is made from rice malt, in winter. When I tell this story to foreign students, they are surprised and say, "Children drink sake, too? They are surprised. Amazake is sake, but some amazake is alcohol-free. Please give it a try.
