The 14th Teshikaga Photo Contest Winning Entries 1/5 This year marks the 14th Teshikaga Photo Contest. While digital submissions and entries via social media have become common in recent years, the Teshikaga Photo Contest follows a classic format by judging printed works. For this edition, we welcomed Takeshi Mizukoshi, an internationally known mountain photographer who lives in Teshikagacho, as a special juror to help select the winners. For the 14th contest, we accepted entries in four categories—Starry Skies, Sea of Clouds, Activities (Experiences), and Open—from November 1 to December 25, 2024. Out of 154 submissions, 20 works won awards. [February Pop-up by Yukimichi Bookshop] Wednesday, February 12 With Valentine’s Day nearing, the books on display that day were chosen around the theme of "love." A plush "t" hanging in the room was irresistibly cute. If you look closely, there was also something black hiding behind the books 🐕 Next to the room of books sat perfectly round chocolate treats. While nibbling the sweets, visitors could try making bookmarks from scraps of deerskin. We stamped letters with a wooden mallet to emboss names or favorite words into the deerskin. Paired with colored cords (also deerskin!), the result was absolutely lovely. I only snapped a few photos and left early that day, so I want to take my time browsing the books next month… The location is unchanged The venue is Pom, between the village office and Kikuchi Store.
