With the tickets we bought, children can redeem candy and drinks. Subject to high school students and younger, it can be used as a snack before going to school, when going out, or when mom or dad doesn't buy snacks (laughs). Children, First of all, draw a ticket fortune Redeem your ticket, Choose candy and drinks for the amount indicated on the ticket, Ask the vendor to confirm that it is within the amount. At the end, the children write a message as a thank you. This message is displayed under the sign of Stellar Station, so please take a look. At this time, I was impressed by the friendship and compassion when I saw that they were giving one candy as a gift to a friend with a small amount of money, or exchanging a snack by combining tickets between friends. 🌸 【Hokuryucho Cherry Blossom Spot Introduction vol.4】 🌸 Hello, this is 🌻 the Hokuryu Town Himawari Tourism Association This time, too, we will introduce the cherry blossom Spot that colors the Spring in Hokuryu Town! 🌟 The fourth installment is— "Cherry blossoms in the yew forest"! Today, Hokuryu Town residents Maintenance with his own hands, and it was filled with pioneering spirit Introducing 🌳✨ the handmade forest "Yew Forest" This forest is dotted with Song monuments and poetry monuments related to the town, and is full of literary romance. In Spring, several Prunus sargentii (Ezo cherry trees) bloom along the road, delighting 🌸 the eyes of those walking Among them, this time I was particularly struck by the following: Ipponzakura cherry blossoms bloom quietly deep in the walking path. Coupled with its beautiful branch yellowtail, pretty flowers, and the landscape of farmland spreading out next door, Impression by the picturesque location ...! In the quiet forest, my heart seemed to be washed 😂 by the miracle of Spring that I suddenly encountered Squid may not be well known yet because it is located in a slightly secluded place, Thereare the tranquility you can enjoy and a moment to face Nature. Even after the cherry blossom season has passed, the charm of the yew forest does not 🍃 fade I would like to continue to carefully protect this forest, where the thoughts of the Town residents live. When visiting Hokuryu Town, be sure to visit the "Yew Forest". We look forward 😊✨ to your visit

#003 There are many places rich in Rich in nature in Tonomachi. Among them, Mt. Osuzu can be said to be a special place. This time, I would like to introduce Osuzuyama, which represents Miyazaki Prefecture. On the west side of Tonomachi is Mt. Osuzu, which has been selected as one of the Two Hundred Famous Mountains of Japan. There are a place in Mt. Osuzu that was designated as a scenic Osuzuyama Waterfall Group on March 7, 1944 (Showa 19). There are many waterfalls there. First of all, I would like to introduce the waterfalls in each valley. ◆ Keyakidani ・Autumn leaves waterfall ・Seoknan Flower Waterfall ・Sudori no Taki 100m ・Sagiri no Taki ・Sarasa Falls ・Yasuragi no Taki ・Hagakure Falls ・Shinokake Waterfall ・Shirataki 75m ・Akebono Falls ◆ Amachadani ・Iwami Falls ・Hydrangea Waterfall (Hydrangea Taki) ・Jiro and Shiro Waterfall ・Taro Falls ・Hachinosudaki ・Enoki-no-ha Falls ・Senjo Falls ・Amacha Waterfall ・Amacha Kotaki ・Pseudo-Hoju Waterfall ・Mankichi Falls ◆ Yatogidani ・Suzumi Falls ・Futami Falls ・Aoba Falls ・Wakaba Falls ・Shigure Waterfall ・ Ippo Waterfall (Ichimaidaki) ・Godan Waterfall ・Yaken Waterfall 73m ・Uodomedaki Falls These will be the main waterfalls of the Osuzu Mountain Waterfall Group. There are so many waterfalls in the waterfall group alone. In the summer, a waterfall tour Events are held with Keyakiya as a course, and many mountain climbing enthusiasts, waterfall lovers, and even beginners come every year. [2 waterfalls I recommend] Next, I would like to introduce two waterfalls that I recommend. ◆ Shirataki In the first place, the Osuzuyama Waterfall Group was also a place for Shugenja. In Shirataki, Teisuke Kongoin It is said that in 1822, a man named (Vajra Inseiyu) stayed in Shirataki on the Kinya Valley and fasted for 7 days and 7 night Training s. There is also a story that the river Water swollen due to a storm, and driftwood and stones weighing 4 kg were stream, but they escaped by being hit by the conch shell they were wearing. The amount of water itself is smaller than that of Yaken Falls, and it falls diagonally and in four steps, so it is not so impressive when viewed from directly below, but the view from the Mountain Trail (Shirataki Observation deck) on the south side is in harmony with the towering Quay and surrounding trees, and it looks like a wide mountain water painting. In the summer, the "Osuzuyama Festival Waterfall Tour" Events is also held in. ◆ Yaken Falls The waterfall that represents Mt. Osuzu is Yaken Falls. Until recently, the road was closed due to paving work, but since it opened, many tourists have come to see it. Surprisingly, foreigners are also coming. By the way, I have been there twice since the opening, and the waterfall at Yaken is still very spectacular. I felt that I could feel the goodness of Yaken Falls by experiencing for myself the smells and sounds, the size of the scenery, and the amount of light that cannot be conveyed by photographs. The reason why it is called Yaken Falls is that it was named after the legend that Emperor Jimmu sharpened his arrows in the water of this water during his expedition to the East. There is an explanatory signboard near Yaken Falls. By the way, if you look at Yaken Falls in front of you, on the Quay in the left foreground, there is a "Kamisakannari" (Kamisakannari) The two characters are engraved. It is said that these two characters were carved on the Quay wall in 1940 (Showa 15) as one of the commemorative projects after a man named Akizuki Taneki Appreciation of Yaken Falls in the Meiji era and was impression by its heroic mystery. 【Name and Minamoto of Mt. Osuzu】 Why is Mt. Osuzu called Mt. Osuzu? Nowadays, the place name and the surrounding town are called Osuzu district, but what is the origin of the name? Originally, the town of Tsunomachi and its surroundings were called Niiroin, and Mt. Osuzu was also called Mt. Shinna. Thereare various theories after that, but there is a story that is still being told. Since ancient times, Tonomachi has been set up with horse farms and has been Production of good horses. Among them was a white horse, but only that white horse entered Mt. Osuzu without being caught, and became a Shinto horse there. It is said that the god of the mountain sometimes rode this white horse and flew directly over the Tsuno Shrine to visit the beach of Tsunomachi. It is said that the bell attached to the white horse resounded, and this god was called "Suzu-sama", and eventually the mountain came to be called "Mt. Osuzu". However, in the village at the foothills of the mountain, some people call it Gozenjo. Mt. Osuzu is also famous for having various plants. 【Plants of Mt. Osuzu】 In the Osuzu Mountains, there are several rare plants that can only be found here in the world, as well as plants that were born in Mt. Osuzu and are gradually expanding their distribution area. ◆ Kibana no Tsukinuke Hototogisu It is a very valuable plant that can only be found in the Osuzu Mountains in the world. As the name suggests, this grass is characterized by a stem that extends through the leaves. It grows hanging down on damp, shady cliffs such as Yaken Falls and Shirataki. Best time to visit is from late September to early October with beautiful yellow flowers. ◆ Kan Orchid (Osuzu Kan Ran) The main natural habitat of cold orchids is warm regions affected by the Kuroshio Current, such as Shikoku, the Kii Peninsula, and the Kyushu region. Among them, the Osuzu Mountains are said to be a treasure trove of cold orchids because of their wide natural habitat and excellent quality. The environment in which it grows is moist in twilight and in a well-Water wooded area. However, this cold run has drastically decreased due to the fact that it began to be traded at abnormally high prices due to the cold run boom of the Showa era. ◆ Tsukushi Rhododendron This flower, which bears pale pink flowers from May to early June, is open in the shape of a Japanese morning glories and is characterized by many at the tips of the branches. The flowering fluctuates depending on the year, but the sight of them blooming all at once is a masterpiece. There are many climbers who climb for the purpose of this flower. Now, how was the introduction of Mt. Osuzu? Mt. Osuzu is still packed with many charms. Regardless of whether you like or dislike mountaineering, you can enjoy Mt. Osuzu. There are also campgrounds, so I would like to post such in the future.

Ashoro Tourism Association
May. 13, 2025
The bitter cold is over, and Ashoro is gradually becoming a comfortable season. As the weather gets warmer, the number of climbers on Mt. Mekan seems to be increasing, but I would like to tell you once again about the precautions for climbing Mt. Meakan. In recent years, with the increase in the number of mountain climbers, the number of accidents during mountain climbing has increased. In particular, it seems that there are many people who report that their feet hurt during the descent. Prepare well according to your physical strength, muscle strength, technique, and experience, and never overdo it. Mt. Mekan is a mountain that is relatively easy to climb even for beginners, but it is a 1500m-class mountain in Hokkaido. Even in summer (around July), depending on the weather, the temperature can be close to 0°C, or it can be 35°C or higher. In addition, even if the Downtown area of Ashoro is sunny, there are many cases where the weather is bad at Mt. Meakan. There are also sudden changes in the weather. There are that pebbles may fly near the summit due to strong winds. Local people do not climb when the trees are making a go-go sound in the wind at the trailhead. Since it is an active volcano, please check the volcano Information and make a decision on climbing after fully being aware that it is an active volcano. ・Do not climb in light clothing. As for shoes, it is desirable to have neat mountaineering boots. There are many tree roots on the Mountain Trail that look like a mesh, and it is slippery, especially when wet. There are no trees near the summit, and the ground is stone and sandy, especially on the descent. Some people fell and hit their heads and were transported by helicopter. In addition, considering the change in weather, temperature change, and wind near the summit where there are no trees, it is essential to prepare rain gear such as a rain jacket for climbing. When we climb around June, we try to bring at least one fleece to protect us from the cold. In July ~ August, even if the day before exceeds 30°C, the next day it may be below 10°C. Thereare it is necessary to take measures to protect against the cold, and it is necessary to prepare drinks and food well. Don't forget your map and compass. ・ Do not go off other than the mountain trail, do not collect animals and plants. Mountain trail Maintenance is carried out every year so that people do not get lost in pink tape and rock markings (Implementation is scheduled for May 22 in FY2025). Do not stray from the Mountain Trail for the protection of flora and fauna. In addition, it is in a national park, and the collection of flora and fauna is strictly prohibited. Other precautions, please check the following Home page. https://www.town.ashoro.hokkaido.jp/kanko/spot/spot-9.html...
