In Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture, at Haseiji Temple. While I often find myself looking up to capture the beauty of the autumn leaves, I was suddenly struck by the sight of maple leaves scattered on the stone steps when I paused to look down. The black of the stone steps and the green of the moss contrasted beautifully with the red and orange of the maple leaves, creating a stunning autumn scene that captivated my heart.

In late autumn 2023, I decided to visit Minoh Falls. I thought it would be a short walk, but I found it was farther from the nearest station than I expected, making the walk a bit challenging. However, walking while enjoying the colorful autumn leaves under the clear blue sky was refreshing and lifted my spirits. When I finally reached the falls, I was even able to see a rainbow, making it an unforgettable and wonderful experience.

Currently, Senga Falls in Shosenkyo Gorge is experiencing increased water flow, with milky water cascading fiercely down. The thunderous roar shakes the surrounding air, making conversations nearly impossible due to the powerful waterfall. It's truly a breathtaking sight that can only be seen a few times a year! When you visit Shosenkyo, be sure to come and see this view. Additionally, on September 1st of the 8th year of Reiwa, the results of the "Comprehensive Evaluation and Continuation Review for the 8th Year of Reiwa" were announced by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. This time, Shosenkyo has been designated as a "Continuing Certification" for Japan Heritage! Furthermore, it has been recognized as a "Key Support Area" due to expectations for future initiatives as a model for other regions. During my visit to the 18th temple of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage, Onzan-ji Temple, I encountered a large ginkgo tree that painted the grounds in golden hues. With every gust of wind, the colorful leaves gently danced down, creating a yellow carpet at my feet. This moment in late autumn, encountered along the Shikoku pilgrimage, remains etched in my heart. [Chiheisen Morizumu] Friday, September 4th The cafeteria of GA.KOPPER was overflowing with people, and many were found in the hallway, listening to the relay talk. They gathered in Nishiokoppe Village, a remote area of Hokkaido, from all over the country and even the world to participate in the pre-festival of the Chiheisen Report Meeting "Morizumu." Founded in 1979, the Chiheisen Kaigi is a network of "doers" interested in exploration, adventure, and travel. These are people who place great importance on seeing things firsthand and have been sharing their experiences through monthly report meetings and a booklet called "Chiheisen Tsushin." Although there are no offices, membership fees, or rules, the connections formed over a long time are significant. Reunions with someone met through reports or communications, as well as new encounters, flourished in the village of Nishiokoppe. The gathering on Saturday the 5th began with an opening act by the Chiheisen Proper Conduct Band and the Nishiokoppe Wenshiri Drummers, followed by three report meetings and a venison festival. The traditional "Chiheisen Auction & Relay Talk" was also a great success! On Sunday the 6th, the report meeting was held from 9 AM to around 4 PM, filled with rich discussions. It was three days filled with the energy of those involved in Morizumu. We are truly grateful for choosing Nishiokoppe Village as the venue for such a large-scale gathering and for everyone's efforts to make it happen.
