❄️Mori no Snow Park 2026❄️
Here is a brief look at the recent “Mori no Snow Park 2026 in Kawayu Onsen.” There were plenty of activities, including cross-country skiing, a tipi bonfire, an Akaezomatsu (Siberian fir) distillation workshop, slide talks, snow candles, and a variety of delicious foods!!

This winter event is now an annual tradition, so if you couldn’t attend this time, please come next year. Look forward to it!

In Teshikaga Town, as we promote tourism—the town’s core industry—we have been advancing the redevelopment of the Kawayu area. In October 2023, we adopted the Kawayu Onsen District Town Development Master Plan to guide the revitalization of the Kawayu Onsen district.


At the times below, panels and other displays will be available, and staff will be on hand to explain the progress of the Kawayu Onsen district redevelopment whenever you visit.

Notice: Local junior high students made POP displays and recycled bags ✨

Second-year students from Iwanai Daiichi Junior High School
brought handmade POPs, posters, and recycled bags to the Roadside Station as part of their Integrated Studies project — “A Plan to Revitalize Iwanai-cho.”

For the POPs and posters, they asked themselves, “What information do customers really want?”
They researched popular products and created the materials accordingly ✨
The illustrations and English labels show lots of thoughtful touches, and everything is very easy to read!

And here’s a highlight 🐟
The Tarumaru illustration on the recycled bags is a work by Idobata, who won the Kida Kinjiro Prize at the ongoing “Hometown Children’s Art Exhibition” held at the Kida Kinjiro Museum of Art ✨

Notice of Reopening of the Ponpon Mountain Trail
We would like to inform you about the reopening of the Ponpon Mountain Trail.

The Ponpon Mountain Trail, which is currently closed, will reopen on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Please note that the Doba area connected to the trail will remain closed to private vehicle parking until December 30, 2026, because it will be used for forest maintenance work. Please check nearby public parking lots and use those facilities.

Everyone come! Teshikaga⭐️Hanabi Village is happening!
On Sunday, February 22, 2026, Teshikaga⭐️Hanabi Village will take place on the Teshikaga Junior High School grounds.
The event runs from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and features endless handheld sparklers, hot air balloons, food trucks and more. Some activities have limited capacity, so join early.

On February 21 and 22, the town venue will host the Teshikaga Town Photo Gallery. Look for a Teshikaga High School × Miyazaki Flower Shop collaboration, food trucks and Teshikaga Marche stalls, plus a small snow slide.

On Saturday, February 21, “Mori no Snow Park 2026 in Kawayu Onsen” will take place in front of Kawayu Visitor Center.
With the concept “Play in Kawayu’s winter,” a variety of activities and events will be offered again this year.
There will be plenty of experiences for both adults and children, including cross-country ski and ski-shoe trials, snowshoeing, campfires in tipis, Korean fir (Akaezomatsu) distillation workshops, wooden coaster making, and slide talks.
Hot milk and handmade cookies from Teshikaga High School students will be available in tents at the venue.
Please come together with friends and family.

Here is the 2026 winter schedule for the Mashu–Kussharo Sightseeing Loop Bus, which visits the main scenic spots within Teshikagacho.
The loop bus ticket, called the “Teshikaga Eco Passport,” is available again this year as a 2-day or 3-day pass. Please make an advance reservation and make use of it. It’s recommended for those who are uneasy about driving or who want to enjoy sightseeing in Teshikaga easily. For details, see Teshikaga Navi.

From Saturday, January 24 to Sunday, March 1, 2026, Teshikaga offers the 2026 winter “Teshikaga Eco Passport” town shuttle bus (reservation required) and, during the same period, a luggage delivery service called “Sightsee hands-free.” This convenient service delivers your luggage from the drop-off location to the pick-up location so you can explore Teshikaga light and free during that time. You won’t need to carry your bags yourself, allowing you to spend all your time and energy on sightseeing. No advance reservation is required. Please take advantage of this opportunity.
