Miyagi Zao Okama The vivid emerald green surface of the water is a masterpiece! It's the first time I've seen a lake with such a dark color. Summer Zao is the best! Summer colors were in full swing.

I went from Miyagi Zao Togatta Onsen to Okama to see the sunrise. The sunrise at the top of the mountain is good, but from a gentleman who likes to travel from Sendai I was guided to a superb view point and was able to take a picture of the splendid morning sun. Echo Line Komakusadaira highly recommended!

In the world of narnia. My today's recommendation is mount Zao. Its really a winter wonderland. All the trees are cover with snow. This phenomenon is observed due to the very cold Siberian wind. It was taken from the ropeway. The image is slightly hazy due to the glass of the ropeway. Truly very beautiful place

What an amazing view, catching the sunrise just perfectly between the clouds. I really want to visit Zao as I know that it's amazing all year round and it'd be cool to go during the winter since you can go skiing and snowboarding but it'd be great to go during the spring or summer when there's no snow to go hiking and see places like this as well. Okama Crater is really beautiful and I can imagine it looks even more amazing in person. It's too bad there aren't any fish in the crater due to the acidity but that's a cool aspect in and of itself too. The crater is actually a lot higher in elevation than I originally thought; never seen it with a sea of clouds before.
