A dye called mud indigo is made from a plant called Ryukyu indigo, and you can experience weaving using yarn dyed with it. It has been used as one of the dyes for various traditional textiles in Okinawa since the Ryukyu Dynasty. I will weave the yarn using a hand-made loom, but at first I had a hard time getting the point, but it turned out quite well ^^ (It's a coaster) I would be happy if there were people who would support Okinawa's traditional crafts through this experience corner.
