These are Kawazu cherry blossoms and mejiro. Kawazu cherry blossoms are early blooming cherry blossoms that begin to bloom in early February. Kawazu cherry blossoms were born from the natural hybrids of the scarlet cherry blossoms and Oshima cherry blossoms mentioned in the previous post. Since it was discovered in Kawazu Town in Shizuoka Prefecture, it was named Kawazu Sakura. The reason why Kawazu cherry blossoms bloom so early is that the early flowering time of the cold scarlet cherry blossoms, which is the source of hybridization, is said to be the early flowering time. (Since the color of Oshima cherry blossoms is pure white, the color of Kawazu cherry blossoms seems to be somewhere between Kanscarlet cherry blossoms and Oshima cherry blossoms.) ) By the way, Kawazu cherry blossoms can also be seen in Tokyo. This photo was taken in front of the Marubeni Building in Otemachi. (It's quite scattered now.) )

Speaking of Japan sightseeing spots that we would like to recommend in 2023 It is "Okunoshima" aka "Rabbit Island" in Takehara, Hiroshima Prefecture! There used to be a poison gas worker, so it is also an island with a sad history, Currently, it is designated as a national park and is famous for having about 500~600 rabbits. You can interact with wild rabbits while looking at the beautiful sea of the Seto Inland Sea, and it is a tourist spot that you want to visit in the year of the rabbit. -- Speaking of sightseeing spots in Japan that I would like to recommend in 2023, it is "Okunoshima", also known as "Rabbit Island", located in Takehara, Hiroshima Prefecture! [English/Japanese] I would like to introduce "Nekoyaki" at a Japanese confectionery store called "Nekoma" located in "Soto Terrace," a spot that promotes traditional culture in Hachioji, which I wrote about in a previous article. This wagashi is very delicious with lots of sweet bean paste stuck inside. The face of the cat in this "Nekoyaki" is said to be modeled after a beckoning cat (cat figurine) that survived the Hachioji air raid. The beckoning cat is displayed in a store near this "Soto Terrace. There are several places and things related to the war in Hachioji. At our Japanese language school, we sometimes talk about the Hachioji Air Raid in class. Why don't you come and learn Japanese in a city with a rich history? I will introduce "Nekoyaki" at a Japanese confectionery shop called "Nekoma" in the spot "Kuwato Terrace" that transmits the traditional culture of Hachioji, which I wrote about in the previous article. This Japanese confectionery is very tasty with a lot of red bean paste inside. The face of the cat in this "Nekoyaki" is said to be modeled after the beckoning cat (cat figurine) that was burnt out during the Hachioji air raid. Maneki Neko is displayed in a shop near this "Kuwato Terrace". There are several places and things related to the war in Hachioji. Even in our Japanese school, we sometimes take up the Great Hachioji Air Raid in class. Why don't you learn Japanese in a city with a long history?

[English/Japanese] To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the start of the railroad business, JR East is developing "Pokégenic", a photogenic spot shooting with various Pokémon at stations and Shinkansen stations in JR East area. Found this photo spot in Hachioji! It's cute. By the way, the anime popular among our students is "Doraemon.
