Omiyanomatsu Statue of Kanichi and Omiya Since the Meiji era many celebrated authors lived here and wrote masterpieces in Atami. Among them, the most famous is Konjiki Yasha (The Golden Demon), a novel by Ozaki Koyo that was serialized intermittently in Yomiuri Shimbun and Shin Shosetsu from 1897 for six years. The novel inspired the pine known as Omiyanomatsu and a popular song that begins "Strolling along Atami’s beach…" Together they spread like wildfire, and the protagonists Kanichi and Omiya captured the nation’s imagination as if they were real people. With the hope that the blue bird will bring happiness.

Washi art carefully finished one by one from washi paper, pulp art blade lamps were made.
The stand was designed in the image of a bird's toe.

It is designed for indirect lighting that glows LEDs with batteries, and it is very beautiful when lit in a room at night.
The light through the washi paper envelops the space with soft light.

With thoughts to fly into a wonderful world When I saw the Japanese paper with long fibers that become fluffy when torn into pieces, I wanted to make feathers. I still can't forget the joy I felt when I used the skills my master taught me to make washi paper feathers.   I think that pulp and washi still have a lot of unknown potential, so I am working on my production activities while keeping an eye on what I can do new or what can be used as a hint for production.

Wow I looked this place up and it's amazing! I'm surprised it doesn't seem as popular as other flower parks but it has some really beautiful scenery. There's a ton of different gardens all with different themes as well. Spring is coming soon so it's something to keep in mind I suppose! I've never heard of Tasha Tudor either but I'm curious to see what kind of picture books she wrote know. I love that Japan has a lot of these types of themed attractions so you can not only enjoy the location itself but also the history behind it or the history that it is brings to life. Hopefully I can get out to Gifu this spring/summer. The place is called "Flower Festival Commemorative Park" for anyone wondering.

The garden of American picture book author Tasha Tudor.

It's not Japan, it's America! It seems to be plunged in,
"Tasha's garden was reproduced with flowers in the Japan."
In a way, it may be the personality of Japan ...
