The 18th Spring Maki Uma Festival “Tokkome Cherry Blossom Festival” 🐎🌸

We are holding a festival in the park near the National Historic Site Remains of Shimousa Kogane Nakanomaki (Wild horse-taming) in Kamagaya City to introduce the historic site to more people!
Events include a quiz rally and stamp rally, pony rides, a horse-drawing corner, an on-site tour of the historic site, a mini exhibition, and food stalls from local neighborhood associations. There will also be a mölkky experience session and distribution of beetle larvae♪
*Various activities are prepared so people of all ages, from children to seniors, can enjoy the day ✨*

Nana Field Road 2026 in Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture runs through Sunday, March 8, 2026. Feel spring in a field of four million rapeseed flowers.
Stay at a partner hotel in Kamogawa City to receive a free flower-picking ticket (10 stems).
It takes about two hours from Tokyo Station by train, express bus, or car. It is an 18-minute walk from Awa-Kamogawa Station.

The illumination event “Yoritomo Cherry Blossoms and Bamboo Lights” has begun at Sakuma Dam Hanami Hiroba.

The glow of the bamboo lanterns is truly magical. The bamboo lanterns were handmade by the Hotagawa Yoritomo-zakura no Sato-zukuri Jikkou Iinkai (Hotagawa River Yoritomo Cherry Blossom Village Development Committee), a group of local volunteers, and we hope you will come see them.

On the 21st, the committee and our association will jointly run a sweet sake stall from 3:30 PM after the lighting ceremony, so please drop by.

It gets especially cold after dusk, so be sure to dress warmly.

The illumination runs until March 14th, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

From February 7th to March 14th, Yoritomo Cherry Blossom and bamboo light displays will begin at Sakuma Dam Lake. The bamboo lights cast a magical glow over the Yoritomo Cherry Blossom. We hope many people will come to see it.

Kamagaya City Film Commission Panel Exhibition Opens!

From tomorrow, the Kamagaya City Film Commission will display posters, autographs from the star-studded cast, and behind-the-scenes photos from productions that received shooting support📹

Kyonan Town announced the blooming of the Yoritomo cherry on January 20. Having received Kawazu cherry trees from Kawazu Town, Kyonan Town calls them "Yoritomo cherry" in honor of the historical episode in which Minamoto no Yoritomo, defeated in battle, is said to have landed at Ryugashima Coast and planned his comeback.

You can enjoy daffodils well into this month, so you can admire daffodils and Kawazu cherry blossoms together.


From Saturday, February 7, the Hotagawa River–Yoritomo Cherry Village Development Committee will place bamboo lanterns along the Daffodil Lane at Sakuma Dam Park and illuminate them at night.

I thought the autumn leaves were already over in mid-December, but when I went shopping in Chiba on the Boso peninsula, I stopped by a water mill while exploring the sights and found a beautiful display of autumn leaves. There was no parking lot, and the water mill caught my eye. The maple leaves were a vivid red, and the fallen leaves were beautiful too, so I enjoyed the last bit of autumn this year. The narcissus in Kyonan is now approaching its peak bloom.

Narcissus have been placed inside Hoba Station and Awakatsuyama Station on the JR Uchibo Line to welcome visitors to Kyonan.

The "Tanada no Akari" rice terrace lights at Daisen Senmaida in Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture can be seen until January 12, 2026. (Every day from sunset until around 8:00 p.m.)
They are not flashy, but they are soothing.

Gurutto Daffodil Stamp Rally is now underway.

A QR stamp rally is currently taking place in Kyonan Town. There are seven stamps placed around the town. Participants who collect all of them will receive a small gift. Guests staying overnight will receive a gift after collecting one stamp.

If you collect stamps from 30 participating shops around town and submit your entry, you will receive an original tote bag on the spot (first 200 people). As a second chance, a lottery will award local specialties and other prizes.

Small gifts are distributed at Michi-no-Eki Kyonan Information Center (closed December 31 and January 1), Hota Station Tourist Information Center (closed December 31 and January 1), and Michi-no-Eki Hota Elementary School.

The event runs until February 1. Entry sheets are available at Hota Station Tourist Information Center and Awakatsuyama Station Tourist Information Center.

[Daffodil Festival Begins]

The Daffodil Festival runs from December 6 through February 1 of next year.

In Kyonan Town, one of Japan’s three major daffodil sites, you can enjoy abundant daffodils mainly along Ezuki Narcissus Road and at Okukuzure Narcissus Field from mid-December to the end of January.

During the festival, we will hold the Gurutto Daffodil QR Stamp Rally, a photo contest, the Daffodil Marche, a Game Meat Marche, and more, so please join us.

I photographed the sunset from the Tone River embankment on the Sakaimachi side, looking toward Kanseki-jō Castle 🏯.
Behind the castle stood Mt. Fuji 🗻, and above it hung Yuzuki 🌕.
I savored late autumn with the crimson sunset and moon-viewing.

A little over a year since I took delivery of the car.
I couldn't take photos with the autumn leaves last year
so this year my wish came true🍁
I couldn't put the top down in summer because it was too hot
but the weather turned just right for an open-top drive after a long time
On a drive, I stopped by Kiminomori Metasequoia Trees in Oamishirasato City
The white Copen and the orange-lined trees matched perfectly, giving a full autumn vibe✨

The rooftop of the Kamagaya City Office is relatively tall in the city and has a good view, so you can see the Tokyo Skytree along with Mt. Mount Fuji.

The 51st Otaki Castle Festival will be held again this year over two days on Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12. On the 11th, an opening night festival will take place on Otaki Jokamachi Street from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM, and on the 12th the main festival will run at Otaki Castle and the B&G Baseball Field from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The opening night will feature art candles and performances of local hayashi music and traditional dances, while the main festival will include a procession of warriors from Otaki Castle to the B&G Baseball Field and a market.

When I was a student, at the end of August, I hoped that the summer Vacation would not end.
