Minami Shinshu Cherry Blossom Report — A fleeting dream floating in the nightfall.

Here are last night’s (March 27) nocturnal cherry blossoms from Minami Shinshu.
This year the blooms came earlier than usual, and their full splendor stood out in the stillness of the night.

Lit from below, they seemed almost alive.

Shintoku Town’s Takutetsukinoko Tan presents a Birch Sap Water Harvesting Experience😊

This short seasonal nature activity is best enjoyed after the snow melts and before the trees begin to leaf out🎵

You will receive a small share of the clear, natural sap water that trees draw up from the ground, and you can savor it while feeling nature’s vitality, enjoying a campfire and toasted marshmallows🤗

(Closed on Tuesdays April 7 and 14, and Wednesdays April 8 and 15.)

Late spring has arrived in Hokkaido.
Adonis ramosa and crocuses are blooming.

There is still snow in shaded areas,
but temperatures have been staying relatively warm,
so cherry blossoms should bloom in late April.

While I was out for a walk, I spotted them blooming beautifully by the roadside.
This was my first time really seeing anemone flowers up close, so I ended up taking many photos.
This is one of the shots that turned out well.

A magnificent magnolia was in bloom. Against the blue sky, it really makes a strong impression!

Somei-Yoshino cherry trees are lovely, but the weeping cherry is lovely too 💓

Nagano Prefecture Minami Shinshu Iida Cherry Blossom Report🌸
Spring has arrived in Minami Shinshu again this year🌸

Blooming began earlier than usual this year, and some lone cherry trees are already in full bloom or at their peak.
Each tree seems to tell its own story, offering a spring landscape unique to this region.

This is Homare-zakura along the Shingashi River behind Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine.
It was half in bloom.

On a clear day at a nearby Park, beautiful sanzhu flowers were in bloom. The yellow blossoms are lovely too ☺️

At the park I sometimes visit with my child, vibrant purple magnolia blossoms were in bloom 😊

About 500,000 rapeseed flowers reach their peak, creating a striking scene with the blue sea, sky, and yellow blooms.

In autumn, the cosmos are at their best.

Isehara Flower Report 2026.03.25
Here is the latest update on cherry blossoms in Isehara City.
Cherry blossoms have started blooming across the city, bringing a clear sense of spring.
The weeping cherry at Mishima Shrine is blooming beautifully and is now at its best.
The cherry trees at Takanoyama Park have largely come into bloom, while those at the Sports Park need a little more time to reach full bloom.
Also, the Ooyama cherry is not yet blooming, so we can look forward to its flowers soon.

Near Chikatsuyu Oji Shrine on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route stands the Naganose Family, whose lineage dates back to the Nanboku-chō period. In the old family garden there is a weeping cherry tree that the 19th head of the family, Rokuro Kasamori Nonagase, brought from Gion in Kyoto and planted in April 1747. It rained this morning, but I photographed the tree, which is now about 60–70 percent in bloom.

If you walk the Kumano Kodo Nakahechi Course, be sure to see this magnificent weeping cherry. I think it will probably be in full bloom around this weekend.

Toyama’s Spring Quartet

Cherry blossoms drift in the breeze beneath the snow-crowned Japanese Alps. At sunset, pink light washes over rapeseed fields—when suddenly, a woman in white crosses the flowers, moving against the wind.

For a moment, it feels less like a photograph, and more like a painting come to life.

When I felt worn out from relationships and daily life, I looked up and saw beautiful cherry blossoms at night. Bathed in the streetlight and appearing fleeting, the blossoms calmed my heart.

"Spring River, Boats Drifting"
Fushimi, Kyoto — a tributary of the Uji River. As cherry trees bloom to cover the water with a canopy of blossoms, a jukkoku-bune (traditional flat-bottomed boat) glides slowly along. On the banks, people savor spring in their own ways, and lantern-lit boats sway as they slip quietly into a tunnel of flowers.

Fushimi in Kyoto, the Uji River branch. Full-bloom cherry trees arch overhead while bright yellow rapeseed flowers flourish at your feet, their colors competing vividly. Beyond the clear blue canal, the boarding point for the Jukkoku-bune boats sits quietly, and the tunnel of cherry blossoms continued into the spring light.

“Sakura Corridor, Spring River”
Kyoto – Fushimi, the Uji River branch. Cherry trees in full bloom lean over from both banks and stretch their branches toward the water, forming a pale pink corridor. New willow leaves tremble in the spring breeze as a person in kimono pauses quietly. Boats called jukkoku-bune ply this canal, filling it with the essence of Kyoto’s spring.
