I went from Miyagi Zao Togatta Onsen to Okama to see the sunrise. The sunrise at the top of the mountain is good, but from a gentleman who likes to travel from Sendai I was guided to a superb view point and was able to take a picture of the splendid morning sun. Echo Line Komakusadaira highly recommended!

August 4th ~ August 6th was the Hachioji Festival. A local shrine in Arakawa was having their yearly festival and so I stopped by and had some snacks from the various stalls. I had some chicken steak and "pettanko yaki," which was kind of like okonomiyaki but closer to an actual pancake. It was a nice little festival

It is the "Tanabata Lantern Festival 2023" in Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is a traditional festival that inherits the Ouchi clantern's bon lantern and has continued for about 600 years. Tens of thousands of red lanterns envelop the city with fantastic light.

During summer time we can see several firework festival from different part of Japan. In 5th august I enjoyed the Todabashi firework festival Name "Sky Fantasia 東西光宴". It was a real gem for the firework lover. There were around 12000 fireworks with the time span of 1 hour and 30 minutes. I was amazed and overwhelmed with joy. My dream to enjoy Japanese firework came true.

No season is offseason for Japan. In summer there are so many thing to see and do here. Last weekend I enjoyed thousand light festival at Kawagoe where the warehouse area was looked absolutely gorgeous for the lights and other stalls and stage activities. Everyone was enjoying and most of the local people wear traditional cloths too. It was truly a delightful experienced.
