⛄The skating festival's specialty “shibare-yaki” tickets are on sale now!!⛸️ The 58th Tomakomai Skating Festival will take place at Chuo Park on Saturday, February 10 and Sunday, February 11!!🥳 “Shibare-yaki” refers to cooking on a drum‑can grill and enjoying jingisukan (grilled mutton) out in the cold😊🥩🛢️ The dish originated during the first Skating Festival to thank Self‑Defense Force members who built snow sculptures and the rink, and from the second festival onward it was opened for citizens to enjoy. It got its name from being cooked in the shivering cold.💁‍♀️ Come and taste this traditional flavor!!✨ Tickets are on sale at the city hall shop and at COCOTOMA!!🎫 [Tomakomai City Hall Shop] Address: 1F, 4‑5‑6 Asahimachi, Tomakomai 053-0018 [COCOTOMA] Address: 1F, Friend Building Tenant Wing, 5‑11‑5 Omotecho, Tomakomai 053-0022

[Weekends only in January] On Saturdays and Sundays through Sunday, January 28, 2024, service runs until 7:00 PM Oyama Cable Car night operations are now running♪ *Oyama in falling snow and the night view* On the night-view service’s first day, snow fell from around 3:00 PM to about 6:00 PM, with occasional bursts of blizzard. The scene turned white before our eyes, and snow accumulation reached about 5 cm. Around 6:30 PM, the moment the snow stopped, the white veil cleared and the night view emerged. The town lights and snowy landscape looked beautiful, and visitors enjoyed taking photos. Some road surfaces may still be icy, so please watch your step and enjoy the view from Oyama.
