📍 Hakone Owakudani Owakudani is located in the Hakone area of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. Owakudani was formed by an Eruption about 3,000 years ago. It is one of the few spots in Japan where you can feel the earth alive up close with the smell of sulfur and the smoke that rises. On this day, there were a few clouds, but since the Elevation of Owakudani is high, I was able to see Mt. Mount Fuji and Lake Ashi very beautifully without obstruction.
