It's been a little while. Actually, I'm currently busy preparing for YAMATO FILM FESTIVAL 2025, which takes place the day after tomorrow on Sunday, March 16. This year's festival will screen a carefully selected lineup of short films chosen from many submissions across the country last year, presented all at once in one big showing. We will show 12 films selected for the 15th Short Film Competition, two special works by last competition's winners, and, not to be outdone, several film directors who are also competition judges made one film each for this program. That makes 15 films in total. They offer a variety of themes and flavors. Admission is free. You can watch all 15 films at no charge. Anyone can drop by and watch, so it's a great deal, honestly. I hope there will be at least one film you like or one that somehow lingers in your mind. Now, for publicity we created posters, flyers, and a visitor pamphlet. This time we deliberately unified their concept color. In spring they put down strong roots and delight with vivid color, and before you know it they turn into downy seeds that ride the wind and spread far and wide. The dandelion, also called the dandelion, inspired a color that represents the small film's solid entertainment value, its strength rooted deeply so it will not be lost going forward, and its freedom to spread everywhere rather than stay in one place—things we wanted to value. Well, that's just what the person in charge happened to think. After all, these are just amateur-made ads, but if one happens to catch someone's eye and makes them go "huh?", leading them to discover the world of short films they didn't know before, I would be extremely, extremely happy. I hope such a miracle happens. We look forward to seeing many of you. YAMATO FILM FESTIVAL 2025 Sunday, March 16 — Program starts at 1:00 PM (doors open at 12:30 PM). Estimated end time: 5:00 PM. 1-8-1 Yamato Minami, Yamato City, Kanagawa Prefecture Yamato Cultural Creation Center Sirius, 1st floor, Yamato Arts and Culture Hall, Sub Hall No registration required · Free admission Speakers: Daisuke Miyazaki (film director), others https://www.yamato-kankou.com/shortmovie/...

📍 Hakone Owakudani Owakudani is located in the Hakone area of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. Owakudani was formed by an Eruption about 3,000 years ago. It is one of the few spots in Japan where you can feel the earth alive up close with the smell of sulfur and the smoke that rises. On this day, there were a few clouds, but since the Elevation of Owakudani is high, I was able to see Mt. Mount Fuji and Lake Ashi very beautifully without obstruction. 🌊 Welcome to the ✨ mysterious and beautiful world of the sea I went again this year! Annual event 3 days 2 nights tour🐋 of Okinawa Impression diving, and dreamy whale watching... It was a special experience that stayed with me all the time. The dance of the dogfish and damselfish flocking in the coral forest was a masterpiece, and it was truly indescribably beautiful. What is the appeal of whale watching? Speaking of winter in Okinawa, whale watching is not to be missed. Humpback whales appear in the waters around Okinawa for breeding in winter, and you can see their Powerful presence right in front of you. By combining whale watching after diving, you can enjoy the waters of Okinawa even deeper. 🐳 Whale Trivia The humpback whale is a large whale that can reach up to 15 meters and weigh up to 30 tons. Their graceful swimming and dynamic jumps (yellowtail ching) are spectacular. Humpback whales are also famous as "singing whales", where male whales sing beautifully to communicate with their mates. 🪸 Beautiful sea with coral forests The sea in Okinawa is also known as the "Coral Forest" where colorful corals spread all over. Corals are an important part of the marine ecosystem, and the colorful fish that live there are truly fantastic. For divers, it is truly a Impression moment to experience such a rich world of the sea up close. Thank you to everyone who participated for a wonderful three days! 😃 Dive, drink, eat... It was a great memory! smile 📅 Next held in: Early March 2026 If you couldn't make it this year, be sure to do it next time! 💪 Experience this unforgettable impression together! Thoughts 🌈 of Hokule'a Shonan At Hokule'a Shonan, we believe that diving is not just an adventure, but a journey to explore the unknown and discover a new side of ourselves. You may be able to meet a new self by encountering Okinawa's rich sea creatures and entrusting yourself to the quiet and serene blue world. "Let's embark on a journey into a world we have not yet seen." We hope you will join us on this tour. 🌊

Yamato City Event Tourism Association
Mar. 7, 2025
Hello everyone—this is the Yamato City Event and Tourism Association. We talked about a temple the other day, so today we will introduce a shrine in Yamato. Fukami Shrine is a shrine located about a 15-minute walk from Yamato Station on the Odakyu Enoshima Line and the Sotetsu Line. The enshrined deities are Takemikazuchi no Kami and Takeminakata no Kami. Takemikazuchi no Kami is also known as the deity of Kashima Shrine, the head shrine Kashima Jingu, often called Kashima-sama. Both deities are powerful war gods associated with martial prowess, and they are indispensable for prayers for victory. Fukami Shrine is the only shrine in the city listed in the Engishiki Jinmyocho, a register compiled in the Nara and Heian periods, making it one of the Engishiki-designated shrines. It has been recorded as one of the region’s representative shrines since ancient times. Fukami Shrine is also known for its harunire tree, selected as one of Kanagawa’s 100 notable trees and designated as a Yamato City historic site, scenic spot, and natural monument. This harunire reaches about 30 meters in height, which is rare in lowland areas like Yamato. Because its species was once unknown, locals originally called it the “nanjamonja tree,” and that familiar local name still endures. Nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, Fukami Shrine makes a lovely stop on a walking route. Fukami Shrine 3367 Fukami, Yamato City, Kanagawa Prefecture https://www.fukamijinjya.com//

Today I will tell you a story about the stone statues at Josenji Temple in Yamato City and how incredibly cute they are. Josenji is a well-known temple in Yamato City, famous as the "Temple of Flowers." Its trees and blossoms soothe the mind throughout the seasons, making it a peaceful retreat. Scattered across Josenji’s grounds are rakan statues and kappa. Each one wears a vivid expression that sparks all kinds of imagination: "What are they thinking?" "They look so close and heartwarming," "They seem to be having fun together." Perhaps they, too, enjoy watching the visitors who come to the temple. These lively stone figures are truly full of personality and utterly charming. Temple of Flowers Josenji 2176 Fukuda, Yamato City, Kanagawa Prefecture http://www.jousenji.com//
