Kumamoto Kikuchi Tourist Association
Apr. 12, 2025
The mountain climbing season has arrived. Kuranodake, located in Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, offers trails for beginners through advanced hikers. It is a mountain that even small children can enjoy. From the summit you can enjoy a 360-degree panorama, and a big appeal is that you can easily challenge yourself starting from the 9th station. The elevation is 1,118 m. It was selected as one of the Top 100 Walking Trails in Japan. It sits at the western end of the Aso outer rim, and the name comes from its saddle-like shape. Following the northeast ridge of Kuranodake leads to peaks such as Mount Tsumushi (1,064 m), and some hikers aim for them from Kuranodake’s summit. The mountain hosts many alpine plants and bird species. There are several routes up Kuranodake; for intermediate and advanced hikers there are the Forest Course and the Panorama Course. Beginners can drive up to the 9th station and start from the East Trailhead Course. With routes of varying difficulty, many families hike together. From the summit you can see the Kuju Mountain Range, the Five Peaks of Aso, Mt. Kimpō, and Unzen. Many people bring a packed lunch or coffee to enjoy on the hike. Before hiking, pick up maps and information at Shiki no Sato in Asahishi-Fumoto, Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, located at the trail entrance, and why not give it a try?

🌳2025 Yama School Registration Starts 🌳 "Yama school" means to pretend to go to school and play in the mountains. Even a little earlier than now, when it took me an hour or two to walk to school, It doesn't change the fact that children like to play. We walk through the mountains and rivers to school, which is an ordinary playground full of charm. It's easy to lose track of time chasing birds 🕊️ and finding delicious grass 🌱. At such a time, at school "He's a dumpster, isn't he?" (Why doesn't he come?) (Isn't he playing in Squid mountains?) What a conversation was exchanged. In the old days, everyone experienced it! It will be a ✨ pleasant memory The eco-tour "Let's go to Yama School in Morotsuka!" is inspired by such a mountain school. It is a trip that touches on the rich Nature 🍃 as it is and the way of life of the people who live there. Experience life in the forest, which has been certified as a World Agricultural Heritage Site, using your mind and body to the fullest. Why don't you go on a trip unique to Morotsuka? 【2025 8 Courses】 🌸 Spring Hand-picked and hand-kneaded Traditional Japanese straw raincoat traditional kama-roasted tea making: Saturday, May 10 🍃 Summer Go to meet the "flower that gets happiness" KiRenge Shoma Climbing Kurodake in summer: Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24 🍂 Autumn Get ahead of the taste of autumn! [Kanagawa] Hokule'a Shonan / 5 Star PADI Scuba Dive Center
Apr. 9, 2025
【Spring diving in Nishi-Izu and Ida】 Surrounded by the sea and smiles in 🌸 the cheerful weather|Hokule'a Shonan Hello! Invited by the soft sunlight of Spring, I went 😊 diving in Ida in Nishi-Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture This day is truly a diving day! It was warm enough to spend time in short sleeves on land, and the beautiful blue of the sea and sky called Ida Blues healed my heart. This time, we were divided into two teams, [Divemaster Training] and [Fun Diving], and enjoyed their time at sea. In the training team, candidates aiming to become professionals worked hard to improve their skills by practicing with serious expressions. On the other hand, the fun dive team took a leisurely walk in the water. We spent 🌊 a pleasant time surrounded by the calm sea unique to Spring On this day, guests came from various regions such as Poland, Tokyo, and Kanagawa. At Hokule'a Shonan, we provide polite support in small groups, so even first-time visitors can participate with confidence. "Let's embark on a journey into a world we have not yet seen through diving." What Hokule'a Shonan values is not just diving, but also the splendor of the sea, the comfort of coming into contact with nature, and we hope to help you discover a new self. Nishi-Izu Ida in Spring is a diving spot that can be enjoyed by both beginners and advanced divers. From now on, the Water temperature will rise, Gari the number of seasonal encounters will increase. 🌟 Recommended 🌟 for people like this ・ Those who want to enjoy Nature from Central Tokyo to Day trip ・ Those who want to start diving ・ Those who want to dive safely and comfortably with a small number of people ・Those who are considering obtaining PADI Sense Why don't you take a step into a new world with Spring diving? By all means, let's ✨ go find your own sea trip with Hokule'a Shonan
