A summer tradition praying for protection from misfortune✨ This is Taisai Shrine in Miyoshi-machi, Miyoshi City. It is a seven-minute walk from the Miyoshi Mononoke Museum. The shrine grounds, where the solemn main hall and centuries-old trees harmonize, cleanse the heart. Known as the setting for the manga Asagiri no Miko, which features a miko as the protagonist, the shrine is beloved by many fans. At the roughly 400-year-old Ring Passing Festival, worshippers pass through a large straw ring to pray for good health and freedom from illness, a traditional ritual still carefully preserved today. It takes place exactly halfway through the year, every June 30th. Also known as the Yukata Opening, people in yukata gather to decorate early summer memories. Wrapped in a cool breeze, why not spend a time at Taisai Shrine feeling nature and tradition✨ /The 400-year-old traditional Ring Passing Festival is held/ The festival will take place at Taisai Shrine from the evening of Monday, June 30th. For details about the Ring Passing Festival, please check Taisai Shrine’s Instagram🔍 Taisai Shrine 📍1112-2 Miyoshi-machi, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture 🚙About 12 minutes from Miyoshi IC on the Chugoku Expressway Priest and miko are not always on site. Naha Hurley prays for the safety of the sea and abundant fishing / It is a traditional Naha hurley held every year at the Naha Port New Port Pier in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture. It is a traditional event of the sea in Okinawa that has continued since the Ryukyu Kingdom period about 600 years ago, and is Held in during Golden Week on May 3~5 to pray for safe navigation and good fishing. It features a dragon boat with a dragon motif, and it's amazing to see 32 rowers competing with each other! I went to see it again this year. The sound of the bell and the finger whistle were hot again this year ^^

【Sensoji Temple Sanja Festival】 I filmed the famous scene of the Sanja Festival, the moment when the large lanterns of Kaminarimon were folded and the Mikoshi passed under them. This landscape is filled with traditions that have been carefully preserved by the local people. Asakusa is usually a popular Sightseeing spot, but on this day, I was impressed by the Scene where many people gathered regardless of nationality and everyone was excited together. Through the festivals, the passion and energy of the local people were conveyed, and at the same time, I felt that the feeling of impression is common no matter where you live. I wanted to capture such a moment of enthusiasm in a photograph. Location: Kaminarimon, Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo

A mountain-opening Shinto ceremony to pray for safety took place at the summit of Mt. Tarumae on June 12th. A newly installed information board now includes an English description. Mt. Tarumae stands at 1,041 meters and is considered relatively easy to climb. Some hikers are seen wearing sandals, thin-soled sneakers, or short sleeves and shorts, but we recommend trekking shoes and a windbreaker. (The trails are slippery due to pumice ejected during past eruptions, and strong winds always blow at the summit.)
