This is the first time I have seen splashed ice at Lake Biwa Konan in more than half a century since I was born and raised in this area. North Lake belongs to the subarctic zone, so it is said to be a winter tradition, but it is a phenomenon that rarely occurs in South Lake, which belongs to the temperate zone, and when I happened to pass by by car, I thought that plastic bags washed ashore endlessly on the shore, but when I got closer, it was ice, so I took a picture because it was rare. The cameramen, who I had seen on the TV news the day before, set up countless tents on the shore of the cold lake from all over the country to aim for good early morning conditions. The mountain in the center of the opposite bank is Mt. Hiei, where the World Heritage Enryakuji Temple is located.
