I can't get over how much I love seeing pictures of the stars from Japan. It's a completely different sky than back where I'm from. On top of that the weeping cherry blossoms are just indescribably beautiful as well. It looks like this is Okkazuma in Yamanashi Prefecture. The area seems to have some really awesome scenery. Rice fields and stuff too perhaps. It looks like it'd be a really cool place to go sightseeing or cherry blossoms viewing during the next season or if you can get there now I suppose. I bet you could bring a telescope as well and probably see some beautiful stars if this is any indication of how clear the sky is.

「Red rice & Five-storied pagoda」 Location: Bichū Bunji, Soja City, Okayama Prefecture * Red rice dyes the countryside near the Beichū Branch Temple red. Red rice, which has a history of more than 1400 years, was originally used for Shinto rituals at shrines. Rice paddies for sightseeing are planted near the Beichū Branch Temple, but the sight of the rice fields dyed red with red ears of rice is a wonderful sight that can hardly be seen in other lands.
