I will be on winter break until my transfer. Today I am strolling around Tokyo. I visited Tokyo Daijingu Shrine to see the hanachozu (flower-filled water basin). It was around 7:30 in the morning on the shrine grounds.

This is an autumn scene at Roka Koshun-en Gardens in Setagayaku, Tokyo Metropolis. The park preserves the former home of novelist Tokutomi Roka and is beloved by the local community. From a corner of the park’s bamboo grove I framed a maple tree with autumn leaves. I think it captures a very Japanese landscape.

In December, Uenokouen still holds the last traces of autumn. On the way back from a visit to Tokyo University of the Arts and viewing an exhibition, I was delighted to see the autumn leaves and took these photos. I hope I pass and can come back here to see the autumn foliage again next year.

This was also taken in the garden of Nezu Museum in Tokyo Metropolis. I was simply capturing an ordinary scene at my feet, but when I look closely I find each natural color beautiful. The colors increase in autumn, which makes me feel that even more.

Futakotamagawa Oyama Michi Festival Celebrates Local History Enjoy and learn about the historic Oyama Michi that runs through Futakotamagawa. The 16th Futakotamagawa Oyama Michi Festival will be held. Oyama Michi refers to the routes used by pilgrims visiting Ooyama, with paths centered on the mountain across various regions. The Oyama Michi that passes through Futakotamagawa led from Edo’s Akasaka-mitsuke Gate to Ooyama and served as a back road to the Tokaido, frequently used for transporting goods. On a warm summer afternoon, people found quiet moments to rest under the sunlight at Shinjuku Gyoen in Tokyo. Some read books, others lay down on the grass, simply enjoying the slow and peaceful rhythm of the day. Watching everyone enjoy their time made me realize how romantic and relaxing Japanese summers can be.
