Early morning of summer vacation. In the morning mist of Lake Motosu, there were many people playing stand-up paddleboards.

In Hachioji City, you can try dishes from cuisines around the world. The other day, I had dal bhat at the Nepalese restaurant Naoya, a five-minute walk from school next to Hachioji Central Library. “Daal” means bean soup and “bhaat” means rice, so it’s like a Japanese set meal. Although Nepal is famous for curry, the dal bhat was not spicy at all and had a gentle flavor 😊 I was happy to finally try this dish, which a student introduced to me a few years ago ✨ For dessert, I tried ras malai (cottage cheese dumplings soaked in honey) for the first time and was surprised by how sweet it was! In Hachioji City, you can eat dishes from all over the world. Japan has a deep rooted cultural heritage and the ethnicities of this country is versatile and beautiful. When my foreigner friends wore those vibrant and gorgeous kimonos they got so much appreciation from the people around them that was overwhelming. And yes it was also my first hand experience as a photographer too.. On that day we enjoyed a lot.

Golden hour at sunrise It was taken in Japan Daira, Shizuoka Prefecture. It was the first early morning photography activity in a long time, and with Mt. Fuji directly behind it, the light fog and the golden hour illuminated by the sunrise soothed my heart.

This photo was taken at the Yamanoji campsite that opened in the Nanshin region of Nagano Prefecture. The tent standing at the solo campsite and the smoke and fresh green of the bonfire were fantastic, illuminated by the sunlight.

A shop specializing in halal foodstuffs is also available, making shopping convenient for international students. The school plans to visit this market as a field trip. Hachioji City has a market called the Hachioji Sogo Oroshiuri Center. Here, rare fish and similar items are sold. There is also a specialty store for halal ingredients, which is convenient for international students to shop at. The school plans to visit as an educational excursion.

Went to Karuizawa for Golden Week! We booked our shinkansen tickets well in advance so we were basically flipping a coin with the weather, but it still managed to be a really fun trip despite 2/3 days being rain. We were able to do a lot of shopping at the outlet mall near the station and other places in the area on the first and third days when it rained so it worked out perfectly. My girlfriend's friend was headed back home from Tokyo the same direction we were headed so she stayed one night with us and then we were able to all hang out and go shopping in Karuizawa for most of the day after which she hopped back on the shinkansen towards home. The second day was really nice weather, despite being just a bit chilly, but it was still nice enough that we were able to rent some bicycles and ride around the area. The place where we rented the bikes gave us a nice sightseeing route to go on and so we were able to see a bunch of different places and use our time effectively. When we were headed into town we crossed a bridge and there was a nice view of Mt. Asama with a ton of fisherman fishing along the river below the bridge. It was a pretty cool sight. We even got to see someone catch a fish as well. We obviously went to Shiraito Falls as well and it was really beautiful. There was a sign behind that described how the water took around 5 years to come out of the ground where the waterfall was or something to that effect as well. The path leading up the waterfall was quite neat as well, with the river running next to it and a giant fallen tree with more smaller waterfalls to go with it. There was also two wooden carvings of the characters from Demon Slayer 鬼滅の刃 which was interesting. The food in the area was delicious as well. We were staying at a pension and we only had breakfast with our stay, so we ended up going to another pension where they had yakiniku and we got a pretty good price for a massive platter of food. I was so full at the end I'm not sure how I made it back to where we were staying for the night lol. The third day we did some shopping up at Harunire Terrace ハルニレテラス and we kind of just relaxed in the area. It was a pretty trendy place surrounded by nature and there was a hot spring up the road as well. We wanted to go in the hot spring but there was a pretty long line so we decided to pass. We ate dinner at one of the restaurants at the terrace and while all of the indoor seats were taken, we were able to get some outdoor seating. It was cold out so I didn't think it would be a good idea, but they had some heaters outside and blankets and it was actually quite enjoyable. Had a lot of fun and it was a really great place. We might travel there again during the summer when it's warmer as well or maybe in autumn when the leaves change color. I definitely recommend giving it a visit!

The roof of a temple is very beautiful, isn't it? There are more and more temples buried in modern society and their existence is becoming stricter. Not only temples, but also many things that should not be lost, such as old traditions and good old teachings. We must carefully pass on those things.

Had a nice relaxing golden week and to finish it off I saw some carp streamers billowing in the wind at some park along the river near Kita-senju. Had some really nice weather the past couple days too, which was great. Hope everyone had a nice holiday/vacation!

At Aikawa Waterfront Park in Tarui Town, Gifu Prefecture Carp streamers have been swimming on the river since the end of March. If you are at the end of March ~ beginning of April, you can see cherry blossoms as shown in the photo, and Mt. Ibuki covered with snow in the back.

Ena City, Gifu Prefecture Sakaori Terraced Rice Fields In May, the water is covered and you can see the beautiful countryside. Around the new moon, you can see the Milky Way at midnight and the starry sky. Many photographers gather at sunrise time. As an aside, about 10 minutes by car from here is Gifu Bungee, where you can bungee jump, the highest in Japan.

[English/Japanese] May 5th is Children's Day. On Children's Day, people decorate the outside with fish called koinobori, or carp streamers. Koinobori are decorations that express wishes for children’s growth and success in life. The Asakawa River in Nishi-Hachioji is decorated with many koinobori carp streamers. The carp streamers flowing over the river are beautiful and very moving. It takes about 25 minutes to walk from the school, which is a bit far, but be sure to go and see them. May 5th is Children's Day. On this day, people display koinobori, fish-shaped carp decorations, outside. Koinobori are meant to wish for children’s growth and advancement in life. At the Asakawa River in Nishi-Hachioji, an event displays many koinobori. The stream of carp flying above the river is beautiful and very moving. It takes about 25 minutes on foot from the school; it’s a little far, but please go and see them.

The wisteria trellis, which is full of Japan types of wisteria, is a masterpiece. Wake District, Okayama Wisteria Park

This flower was taken when I went to Nakayamaji Temple in Takarazuka City. Wisteria was over. I don't know what kind of flower it is, but I took it because it was beautiful. Sagiso?
