●I want to eat deliciously this winter! Enjoy Echizen Crab in Echizen Town

Echizen Crab was lifted in November. Echizen Crab is one of the specialties of Fukui Prefecture.
It is also featured in brochures for tourists. Fishing starts on November 6 and is in season until mid-March.
It's for a limited time, so I want people I know outside the prefecture and outside of Japan to taste it.

This time, we will introduce Echizen Crab Spots that you can enjoy even on a day trip Drive.

How would you answer if someone asked, "What is Echizen Crab?"

Echizen Crab calls snow crab Landings in Fukui Prefecture. In the San'in region, pine needles are called ni, and in Noto and Kaga, they are called kanoga.

There are three points to keep in mind when introducing Echizen Crab

1. Echizen Crab is a male snow crab. Females are called seikogani
2. A yellow tag with the name of the fishing port is attached as proof of Landings in Fukui Prefecture

●Do foreigners like crabs?

Speaking of Fukui, Echizen Crab, and speaking of Echizen Town, delicious seafood. I would like foreign customers to eat it as well.

However, depending on the country or region, there is no custom of eating seafood, or it is not edible. Squid is not good for some people, so be sure to check well in advance. Of course, there are foreigners who come to Fukui to see Echizen Crab.

Here are the favorites of the people I've met by country and region. Please refer to it.

・United States
Many people on the Saikai coast of the United States had the opportunity to eat lobster, so there was not much resistance. Sushi is a widespread part of Japan culture, so many people like raw fish.

・China
Even in China, it is a small yellowtail, but they eat crab, so Echizen Crab was happy to eat it. Crab miso and uchiko are also my favorite foods.

・Asia
Tastes change depending on which region of Asia you are in. The image is that shrimp are eaten, but raw fish depends on the person. Bangladeshi children were not in the habit of eating seafood, and sashimi and fish dishes in general were not favorite.

・Australia
Australia is a multi-ethnic country, and they are familiar with various food cultures on a regular basis. There are many people who like Japan sushi. Echizen Crab was also happy to eat.

・Europe
There are many countries in Europe that do not have the habit of eating fish, so be sure to check carefully.
Inland Australians didn't even like the smell of soup stock. Danes, who have a habit of eating salmon, also have sashimi depending on the person. If you are used to it on a regular basis, you will be desensitized to the smell of fish and the taste of dashi, so be careful when you go to the fish market.

・Israel

4. Rishigahira Plateau

A scenic spot in Echizen Coast, a superb view overlooking Spot Kocho Gate.

Today, New Year smoke signals were raised across many parts of Kiso.
A smoke signal, or noroshi, is smoke produced by burning firewood or gunpowder and raised high; long ago it served as a signal or landmark during wartime or emergencies. In other words, noroshi was a means of communication.

The New Year noroshi event held every January 4 in Kiso began in 2007 at the call of the nonprofit organization Tsumago Ai Suru Kai to strengthen solidarity across the Kiso Valley and energize the region.

The photos show the scene at the site of Tsumago Castle in Nagiso town, where leaves of Kiso’s five treasured trees—hinoki cypress and koyamaki—are burned to create the smoke 🌲
This year, too, the noroshi rose vigorously under clear skies.
