Fire Department New-Year Review Ceremony Today, Sunday, January 5, the fire brigade held its New-Year review ceremony at the Town Hall Parking Lot 🚒✨ The car thermometer read minus 4°C as we headed to the scene 😂 It was a freezing ceremony ❄️ Although I was fully bundled up and cheekily stood near the heater to take photos… The firefighters formed ranks with a poised, unfazed bearing that made them look truly impressive…👏 The squad training demonstration showed sharp, disciplined movements born of daily practice, which was extremely reassuring 🥹✨ The mass water discharge that followed sent colorful columns of water high into the sky and was incredibly powerful 🤩 They moved a fair distance to prepare before the discharge, and thanks to everyone’s perfectly synchronized, efficient actions it proceeded smoothly; I’m truly grateful for the fire brigade’s daily efforts 🙇‍♀️！ The ceremony concluded without issue after awards were presented to firefighting personnel, brigade members, distinguished contributors to firefighting, and families who support the brigade 🏆💫 To the fire brigade, who always protect our town and keep residents safe in their daily lives, thank you so much ✨

Happy New Year. NPO Tsubetsu Tourism Association began its first working day of the year today. We look forward to your continued support this year. Snow fell and accumulated in Tsubetsu over the New Year holidays, requiring snowplows to operate. Although this season has less snow than usual, it has felt like a proper winter. Here’s tourist information for Nagiso town! 📍 Kakizore Valley (Kakizore Keikoku) Among the many gorges along the Kiso Road, this one is said to be especially beautiful. Massive granite boulders that fill the deep valley create stunning waterfalls, rapids, and pools. The water’s beautiful emerald green never becomes muddy, even after rain. In spring you can enjoy azaleas and rhododendrons, and in autumn the leaves turn brilliant colors.✨ Generally, visitors start from JR Junikane Station and follow a nature trail for 4.5 km to Ushigataki Falls, then continue farther along a forest road. For a short walk, the roughly 300 m promenade from Koiji Suspension Bridge to Ushigataki is recommended. The view of Ushigataki, where the main flow of the Kakizore River plunges through carved granite, is spectacular. A 40-minute walk along the forest road brings you to viewpoints with refreshing views of Kirigataki, and you can also see Nijiga Falls and Kaminari Falls. We ask for your cooperation with a maintenance contribution. Please deposit it in the brown post box located at the entrance to Kakizore Valley. Access - By car: about 10 minutes from National Route 19 at the "Kakizore Valley Entrance" signal. Two free parking lots available. - By JR: Get off at JR Nagiso Station and take a taxi for about 25 minutes. Get off at JR Junikane Station and walk about 1 hour (taxis are not regularly available). New Year in Isehara 🎍 2024–2025 Information on Ōyama operations and parking during the New Year holidays Ōyama in Isehara is said to be the first place in Kanagawa Prefecture where you can see the first sunrise of the year. The expected time to see the first sunrise from the summit of Ōyama is 6:45 AM. Also noteworthy is Hijirimine (a sacred peak), accessible by a roughly 2.5-kilometer uphill walk from Sannomiya Hibita Shrine of about one hour, where you can enjoy a spectacular 150-degree wide-angle view of the first sunrise rising to the left of Enoshima from the summit. From New Year’s Day 2025, Isehara will be full of New Year events. We have compiled information for each location; please check the details and dress warmly before you go.
