Photographed on 2023.04.09 at Oyama Senmaida, Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture. I wanted to experience something spring-like scenery, so I went to Chiba Prefecture to see the water mirror of the terraced rice fields. You can only see the clean water mirror for a limited period of time until the farmer plants the rice. It is no exaggeration to say that this is a spring tradition. When the sky deep in the mountains begins to light and the water surface of the terraced rice fields begins to receive the light of the sky, morning finally begins for the animals. The chirping of birds and the chirping of frogs can be heard more actively. "There are still dark shadows in the visible world, but morning is certainly approaching." I wanted to convey such an atmosphere through photographs, so I captured the gentle rotation of light in the darkness.

When I first heard about shirakawago in 2015 from then had dream to visit this place someday. Finally my dream come true and today I visited the most picture perfect and iconic village of Japan. I feel an unexplainable joy and time goes very fast to enjoy the beauty. The beautiful and unique gassho-zukuri village on a pre-autumn rainy morning. The traditional house, the rice fields, cosmos flowers, the green mountains and the alleys of pines what else we need to see. The whole atmosphere is so beautiful.

Since it is autumn in Japan, this season is often called "autumn of appetite". And what is harvested this fall is rice, which can be said to be the food culture of Japan people. I think many people buy it when it is harvested in the fall and new rice comes out. You don't usually look closely at such rice, and you rarely see ears of rice before harvesting. However, rice is harvested in autumn, and I think that rice is a king for "autumn appetite". There was a rice field in front of my house, and the ears of rice were shining in the evening light, and they looked beautiful and delicious, so I took this picture.

I keep seeing pictures of the Shiroyone Senmaida Rice Terraces and I really just need to go and see it myself. I don't know what it is about rice fields but they're some of the most beautiful scenery you can find in my opinion. I think that's another thing I really love about places like Akita, Saitama, etc. It really just makes me wish summer was here already. I want to go outside and enjoy a barbecue at some park. Spring would be great too, I'd get some plum wine and eat some barbecue under the cherry blossoms. I always love seeing the rice field art too, so if I can see some this year I'll be really happy. I think I saw some in Akita but I didn't get a chance to see any in Saitama yet, so maybe I'll try and find some out there and go out for a visit.
