On March 24, I participated in the 3rd Multicultural Photography Exhibition held at Tokyo Tama Mirai Messe, a 5-minute walk from Hachioji Station. Students from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Mongolia introduced the cultures of their respective countries. In addition, Bangladeshi students were in charge of a corner called mehendi, where they drew pictures by hand, and it was so popular that there was ✨ a line

This place is often compared to the renowned Tokyo station by many tourists. It used to be the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice but now serves as the Institute of Legal Affairs and the Legal Library. The Meiji period construction was designed by two competent German architects. Despite being damaged in World War II, it was successfully restored. The symmetrical and majestic architecture of the building is simply breathtaking. The European style of the Meiji period is beautifully represented in this structure and looks even more stunning during the rare snowfall in Tokyo. Exploring new places in this bustling city during the snow season is an experience worth having.

Do you know Myanmar rock-paper-scissors? Myanmar rock-paper-scissors is said to be fought with "tigers", "police" and "guns". Tigers are strong against the police, but weak against guns. The police are vulnerable to tigers, but they are strong with guns because they can control the guns. Guns are weak against the police, but they are strong against tigers. That's the power relationship! 🐯👮 ♀️🔫 The photo on the left is a police pose, and the one on the right is a tiger pose! Students from Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Mongolia study at our school. The students get along very well across borders and respect each other's cultures. 😊

A 5-minute walk from Hachioji Station, we went to the Sri Lankan restaurant "Ceylon Green" behind Don Quijote. The building itself has a very unique shape, and many people are reminded of Minecraft's Nether Fortress. This time I ate a Sri Lankan B-grade gourmet called "Kottu". Kottu is a dish of noodles made of wheat flour with vegetables. It was a little spicy than other Hachioji restaurants I had eaten at before, so the sweetness and carbonation of ginger beer Sri Lankan juice was pleasant to the mouth. The number of Sri Lankan students has also increased at our school, so we are very happy to have a Sri Lankan restaurant in Hachioji. 😊 I'm going to try another dish.

The other day, I visited the Tachikawa Disaster Prevention Center on a field trip. At the Disaster Prevention Center, we had a fire extinguishing experience and a disaster prevention experience using VR. It was freshly renovated, the facilities were clean, and the equipment was the latest in stock, so I was able to learn about disaster prevention while having a lot of fun. A Mongolian student said, "There are many fatal accidents caused by snow in the country, so we should build such a facility." It's very important to be prepared for anything and to gain knowledge!

Today, I would like to introduce "Fuya Bread", which has been in Hachioji for more than 100 years. This shop is a 2-minute walk from Hachioji station. It's a very personal story, but it's also the bakery where my grandmother, who passed away two years ago at the age of 99, used to eat when she was a child. My grandmother told me that she used to eat anpan a lot, so I bought anpan and three loaves of bread. The bread was small in size and had a very nostalgic earthy taste. There are so many international students who get addicted to Japanese bread and get fat. There are many 😊✨ unique shops such as popular melon bakeries and traditional bakeries in Hachioji.

I would like to introduce you to the "Ramen and Tsukemen Specialty Store Original Toshiratei Binbin Main Store" in front of the school. This is a ramen with plenty of onions, just like the Hachioji ramen I introduced earlier. Even when I visited, the store was so popular with foreigners that you could hear languages other than Japanese. Also, since it is a famous store, I have heard that there are many celebrity regulars. Our school has a dormitory on the upper floor of the school. Students who got stuck in "bottles" often said that they go to eat! You're ✨ lucky to have a delicious ramen shop in front of your school.
