Hokkaido Shibetsu DistrictNakashibetsu Town is a town with a population of 22,524 as of the end of September 2023 Reiwa 5 located in the eastern part of Hokkaido. Nakashibetsu Town in Hokkaido is blessed with nature, beautiful pastures and mountains, and agriculture such as dairy farming, Bareisho, sugar beet, and daikon is thriving. Nakashibetsu Town, which boasts one of the largest producers of raw milk in Japan, produces a lot of milk, ice cream, cheese, etc., and is gaining popularity. The climate is inland climate, and snow cover is relatively low in Hokkaido. In summer, the average temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius, and in winter, the average temperature is around minus 10 degrees Celsius. Next, we will introduce popular tourist attractions in Nakashibetsu Town, Hokkaido! ●Kaiyodai Observatory The 330-degree horizon seen from the "Kaiyodai Observatory" on a plateau at an altitude of 270m is spectacular! It is a spot where you can experience the "roundness of the earth". It is also popular because you can see the Hokkaido heritage "lattice-shaped windbreak forest of Konsen Plateau Lattice-shaped windbreak"! This huge windbreak was created across Nakashibetsu Town, Shibetsu Town, Betsukai Town, and Shibecha Town, and the total area of windbreak forests in the four towns is about 12,000 ha about 2,500 times the size of Tokyo Dome. The full extent of the windbreak can only be seen from an airplane. In 2000 Heisei 12, astronaut Mamoru Mohri took a video from the Space Shuttle Endeavour showed a lattice-shaped windbreak, so it became a hot topic as "an artificial object visible from space". 【Naitai Highland Farm】 About one and a half hours by car from Obihiro Station, we went to the Naitai Highlands, where you can see the ranch scenery typical of Hokkaido. "It is the largest public ranch in Japan, with a total area of about 1,700 ha 358 times the size of Tokyo Dome, where you can see cattle grazing. The carpet of green grass that extends to the horizon and the clean air will completely heal the fatigue of daily life. Near the summit is the "Naitai Terrace", which was newly opened in 2019, and you can enjoy the magnificent view of the ranch from the observation terrace.

What a cute photo! I remember when I went to Akita, I don't remember the name of the flower park I'd have to look it up, but they had a small rabbit enclosure there and it was really neat getting to see them just hopping around munching on carrots and stuff. The place had some really good ice cream as well so that was a big plus. Speaking of ice cream, I just remembered the babahera ice that I had in Akita. That stuff was really good as well. It was like a sort of sherbet I think, but apparently it's only sold by old ladies which is how it got its name. I guess that's an interesting fact that I have to share today. If you're ever in Akita be sure to keep an eye out for it. I think I tried it somewhere around Lake Tazawa

Visited Tokyo Skytree. Haven’t been going outside at all lately so we needed a change of pace. Found some really nice Edo Kiriko, at some beef tongue, and tried senbei ice cream for the first time

As always Japan has amazing desserts. Went and dug up some old posts and found a lot of awesome photos. This one just kind of stuck out the most. I've personally never tried mochi and ice cream together but now that I think about it it actually sounds like it could be a pretty good combination. I'm curious as to what the sauce is as well. I've had different types of dango with different types of sauce before but this seems like a totally different experience. I'm considering getting some the next time I go shopping so I can try this. I'm trying to imagine a type of ice cream filled dango or dango filled ice cream but idk how well it would work if the dango are warm 😂. Either way it sounds really good and I don't think I've ever had a bad dessert in Japan so I'd love to try this out if I can manage a trip to Kyoto. When I went to Kyoto in the past I was only in Kawaramachi for a really short amount of time so I'd really like to explore it more next time!
