Kiunkaku Limited-Time “Wagakari no Niwa” and “Dark Green BAR 1919” Kiunkaku, built in 1919 as a villa in Atami and now a tangible cultural property of Atami City, preserves the area’s changing history and culture. The venue normally closes at 5:00 PM, but to let visitors see the Japanese garden and interior illuminated at night, Kiunkaku will offer two special evening openings on Saturday and Sunday, November 1–2, 2025. Enjoy a serene atmosphere unlike the bustling streets of Atami, with lush gardens, the sound of water, and a traditional Japanese light display created with wagasa (Japanese oil-paper umbrellas) and hand lanterns. [Wagakari no Niwa] Date and Time: Saturday–Sunday, November 1–2, 2025, 5:00 PM–9:00 PM (last admission 8:00 PM) Special evening admission: 1,000 yen (tax included); no reservation required *Because wagasa are used, the outdoor garden display will be moved indoors in case of rain. *Entry may be restricted depending on crowding. *Some garden areas will be closed for the special nighttime program. *The number of lanterns is limited. In addition, “Kissa Yasuragi,” which served as a bar when Kiunkaku operated as a ryokan, will reopen as a non-alcoholic bar for two days only. Relax in a classical atmosphere created by dark green sofas and mood lighting. [Dark Green BAR 1919] Date and Time: Saturday–Sunday, November 1–2, 2025; 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM sessions (each 90 minutes, rotating) Price: BAR set ticket 2,500 yen (tax included) *This is a combined ticket for the light-up and the BAR (one drink plus unlimited Shizuoka green tea). *Advance reservation only (please check the reservation link below). https://kiunkaku.jp/article/qPC6zRS0... *Because wagasa are used, the light-up will be held indoors in case of rain. The annual grand festival of Imamiya Shrine in the western district was held on both Sunday, October 19 and Monday, October 20. On the first day’s procession, this year’s yakudoshi supporters’ group, Imamiya Reiwa Inoko-kai, carried the portable shrine from Wadayama to Imamiya Shrine in the morning, distributing lucky rice cakes and sacred sake along the route for warding off misfortune. In the afternoon, following the Atami Fue-Rei Kai flute ensemble and accompanied by the palace mikoshi, the procession toured the route from Imamiya Shrine through Tenjincho, Wadamachi, Nagisa Elementary Park, and back to Tenjincho before entering the shrine. With officials in attendance, the eve shrine ceremony was conducted at Imamiya Shrine. After the ritual, the shrine’s traditional kagura, a children’s dancer performance, and miko dances were offered, drawing a large crowd. On the second day, the festival’s main shrine ritual took place, followed by a dedication performance by wadaiko drummer Ichitaro and the hocho-shiki knife ceremony led by Takashi Kishimoto, head instructor of the Shijo Shinryu headquarters. On both days, food stalls lined the shrine and its surroundings, and not only adults but also children enjoyed the festival.

Pigeon Home Products, a maker and seller of skincare items, teamed up with Atami City to develop a hand cream blended with Atami hot spring water called YUKUMI. This new souvenir uses Atami’s hot springs and adds a fresh option to local gift choices. The product name comes from “yukumi dochu,” the historic practice in which the Tokugawa family had hot spring water transported from Atami to Edo Castle. Local designers contributed to a package inspired by retro bathhouse tiles. The cream keeps fingertips moist and silky. It features a plum scent inspired by Atami Plum Garden, offering a subtly sweet, refreshing aroma that helps create a relaxing effect. The product was developed to soothe both hands and the spirit. When you visit Atami, please consider buying one for yourself or as a gift for someone special! To Nishi-Izu and Tago! Boat Diving Report 🌊⛵️ on a Sunny Sunday in Autumn Hello, this is 😊 Hokule'a Shonan The other day, we went boat diving to the popular area "Tago" in Nishi-Izu! ⛴️✨ Speaking of Tago, it is a diving spot with a wide variety of terrain and highly transparent waters. There is also good Access that can be reached on a day trip from Kanto, and it is 🙌 an area that is often requested in Hokule'a Shonan The first one this time is the point of the open sea, "Floating Shimane off the coast". This is one of the longest places for divers, and when you dive, you will see a spectacular fish shadow 🐟🐟🐟 in front of you! Snapdragons and squirrels flocked and danced 🎆 like fireworks in the sea The sight that covers one aspect of the scene will take your guests breath away ✨ And the second is to the mysterious cave point 🕳️🤿 that represents Tago. As you walk through the Gari, the light shining in from the end of the water channel shines in fantastically, as if you have jumped 🎬💫 into a scene from a movie The scenery of light and shadow touches my heart no matter how many times I visit. That's the real thrill of "cave diving"! On this day, the guests who participated in the yellowtail for the first time in a long time were with us, and the calm way of diving without feeling blank was really wonderful 😀👏 And next time, it's finally the 150th dive 🎉✨ that will be memorable for the guest! Spending time thinking about "where to dive" together is also an important pleasure 💕 of diving life There is a to 🙏🌺 everyone who participated On a pleasant sunny autumn Sunday ☀️🍂, surrounded by the best sea and smiles, we were able to share a happy time. Hokule'a Shonan Held in 🚤🏝️ tours not only in the vicinity of Kanagawa but also in various areas such as Nishi-Izu, Higashi-Izu, and Izu Oshima Island If you would like to try boat diving or cave diving, or if you would like to welcome a commemorative dive in a special place, please feel free to contact us 🤗✨ We look forward to working with you on your precious moments with peace of mind and reliable support! 💙 We also support English. An island 🏝 you'll want to come back to again and again ― Izu Oshima Island Tour Hello! This is 🤗 Hokule'a Shonan This time, I would like to introduce ✨ the Scene of the diving tour on Izu Oshima Island Izu Oshima Island is a popular outlying island that is easy to access from Tokyo. It's about 45 minutes by high-speed boat from Atami, 🛳 but it's a different world in the sea. Held in for the second time this year, and there are many repeat visitors, making it truly 😊 an island that makes you want to come back again and again A fascinating Water world 🌊 The sparkling scenery that spreads out in the shallow area ✨ The world surrounded by light is so beautiful that you will want to look at it forever. Plus, swimming through the dynamic terrain ⛰️ arches and rocky terrain created by volcanic eruptions will make you feel like you're on an adventure. No matter where you dive, there is a lot of variety, and every time you dive, you will discover something new! And above all, a school 🐠🐟 of fish constantly swimming around the divers and never and a moment when they get bored. Unforgettable Night Diving 🌙 What was particularly impressive this time was night diving. The sea at night shows a completely different look than in the daytime. Fish and nocturnal creatures illuminated by lights... Kiss your heart. Among them, what! !️ I came across an oversized sea turtle 🐢 with a body length of more than 1 m. Impression ✨ by the appearance of sleeping comfortably on the rocky ground Everyone was so excited by the power that they just got close and kissed ... I'm sorry 🙏 I woke you up, but it was 👏 a really valuable encounter. Summary🪸 Izu Oshima Island is a special place that combines the grandeur of Nature with the richness of Water, in addition to its proximity and accessibility. A world of shallow light, volcanic terrain, schools of fish, and encounters with big game... All of them will be unforgettable memories. I Izu Oshima Island everyone thinks, "I want to Outbound again!" I can't wait to see 🤿✨ what kind of encounters await me on the next tour 📸 The tour Scene and Latest Information are also Broadcasting on Instagram! 👉 @hokulea_divejapan #DiveJapan #UnderwaterAdventure #ScubaLife #OceanLovers #NightDive #DivingJapan #ExploreTheBlue #HokuleaShonan

All ten of Shimoda’s beaches closed their swimming season on August 31. Thank you to everyone who visited this year. After the season ends, designated swimming and surf zones disappear, and regulations such as "prohibited," "caution," or "permitted" no longer apply; lifeguards and beach patrols that were on duty at the bathing sites are withdrawn. A water-accident advisory is also in effect. With hot days likely to continue, please take care of weather, water temperature, and wave conditions if you go swimming. Be equally careful around other bodies of water. Even outside the official swimming season, you can still enjoy time by the sea as marine therapy. For marine sports, there are experiences suitable for beginners, including sea kayaking, surf lessons, and diving. Simply walking the shore and breathing the salt-tinged air can have the benefits of marine therapy. Spread a sheet on the sand and relax while watching the sea or getting lost in a book. As summer’s bustle fades, the autumn sea becomes clear and calm. Shimoda’s sea is worth visiting even after the swimming season ends.✨ We look forward to seeing you (^o^)

Hello! This is 🤗 Hokule'a Shonan This time, I went diving in Futo, a popular Spot in Higashiizu! Tomito is a place that can be reached by Day trip from the Kanto region, There is a it is ✨ one of the most popular beaches in the Higashi-Izu diving Spot On this day, we were 👍 divided into an OW (Open Water) training team and a fun dive team. The transparency, which was a little down, was recovering quickly and I was able 😄 to dive very comfortably. August is coming to an end, but the midsummer days are still ongoing. After all, the sea looks best 🏝 in summer. Of course, the coolness of the air conditioner is comfortable, but the time to jump into the sea in front of you and cool off while soaking up the sun is the most luxurious moment 🐠 of all. The moment you put your face on the surface of the water, it is a blissful time. In the sparkling water, a flock of Solas damselfish unique to Higashi-Izu Unfolds. The scene is a healing space that you will want to look at forever, and it will make you 🤿 feel the charm of diving again. And what I would like to recommend in Tomito is "Tomito Hall". The terrain is like a small cave, and on a clear day, the light shines through, making you 🌟 feel like you're exploring a small cave. If you were too busy to go diving in the summer, don't worry! Tomito, which can be reached on a day trip from the Kanto region, is the perfect sea for the upcoming hot season. It is a diving Spot that even beginners can participate in with confidence, so it is recommended to start obtaining Sense and fun dives at this time. 🌈 Hokule'a Shonan is a PADI 5 Star diving center located in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The theme is "Let's go on a journey to a world we haven't seen yet!" We help you discover the wonders and joys of Nature through diving. Held in diving courses and tours for more than 300 days a year in Izu, Okinawa, overseas, etc., and the small group system makes beginners feel safe. We can also make a plan according to your request, so please feel free to contact us 🫧. Even if you missed the summer, the residual heat continues. Why don't you take this opportunity to experience diving in Higashi-Izu and Tomito? 🌊 #DiveJapan #JapanDiving #FutoDiving #EastIzu #DayTripFromTokyo #BeginnerFriendly #SmallGroupDiving #EnglishFriendly #DiscoverScuba #ExploreTheBlue #OceanLovers #UnseenWorld

Diving connects the 🌏 world Hello. This is 🤗 Hokule'a Shonan The other day, I went to the popular diving spot "Izu Marine Park (IOP)" in Higashi-Izu. This time, we had guests from Spain and guests from the United States living in Japan. It was a 🤿✨ very international dive On the day of the dive, we were divided into two teams: the experience diving team and the fun dive team. The experience diving team started by snorkeling and getting used to the sea. Scene observed colorful fish in a shallow area with high transparency, and the guests seemed 😄 to be having a lot of fun After that, I tried to breathe in water for the first time. I was a little nervous at first, but I soon got used to it and was able to dive calmly. 🇯🇵 Excellent Access from Tokyo! Held in PADI diving course in Nishi-Izu [English support, small group size] Implementation at Hokule'a Shonan recently held a PADI Open Water Diver Course. The locations are "Hirasawa" and "Ida" in Nishi-Izu, which can be reached on a day trip from Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture. Both are highly transparent and are perfect Spots for your first marine training. All of the guests who participated this time were beginners in diving. Scenes were nervous at first, but after a careful lecture on land, Nature was smiling by the time they entered the sea. The instructor supported me one by one and proceeded with the course calmly. 🤿 Diving is "fun and learning" In the diving course, you will practice basic skills such as breathing in water, clearing a mask, and neutral buoyancy. Even if you are a first-timer, you can rest assured that the small group size and slow pace will make you feel at ease. While experiencing buddy checks and equipment settings, you will acquire Nature and "diver thinking". Above all, the best part is that you can practice in the beautiful sea. The sea in Ida is called "Ida blue", and surrounded by clear Water and colorful fish, you will feel as if you are in another world. 🌏 Classes in English are also available. Suitable for travelers and business travelers! Hokule'a Shonan offers PADI Sense courses in English. It is also possible for those who want to obtain a Sense while traveling or business travelers who are staying for a short period of time. With a flexible schedule, you can tailor the course to your stay plan. 🚉 30 seconds walk from JR Hiratsuka Station (easy Access from Tokyo and Yokohama) 📆 Schedule request OK 👥 Peace of mind in private or small groups 🗣 English-speaking instructors 📩 The first step to the world's oceans, right here in Japan Activities can be started even if you are not a good swimmer. Water is a magical experience of breathing in the water, encounters with sea creatures, and quiet time to face yourself. Everything will be a special memory that will stay with you. If you get a PADI C card (Sense), you will be able to dive in the world's oceans. I sincerely recommend it to those who want to start a new hobby or refresh themselves in Nature. Interested parties, please feel free to contact us by DM or email. Your diving life starts 🌊 here 📸 Scenes of diving are also introduced on Instagram. @hokulea_divejapan Be sure to check out some of Japan's hidden diving spots! #ScubaJapan #PADIcertification #DivingNearTokyo #HokuleaShonan #JapanTravelTips #OpenWaterCourse #SoloTravelJapan #DiveWithUs #ExploreTheBlue #HiddenDiveSpot #PADI5Star #DivingJourney #PADIJapan

Making seabed Aged wine on a sunken ship|Special tour Held in in Higashi-Izu and Irisawa! Hello, I'm Hokule'a Shonan! This time, we successfully held in 😊 our special project, "Making Aged Wine on the Sea Floor in Sunken Ships" This time, the wine was sunk in a sunken ship at a depth of -24 meters in water in Irisawa in Higashi-Izu. In fact, it is said that the origin of "seabed Aged wine" is an old wine that was accidentally discovered in a sunken ship. The swaying waves, the quiet environment, the shading and the constant water temperature created an ideal aged environment for the wines. We Reproduction the "Submarine Cellar" this time! The specially prepared bottles were sealed with sealing wax and the carefully prepared wine was transported to the sea. The space inside the wreck is "just the right size" as if it was prepared for this wine. The scenery peeking out from the side was truly fantastic, and it was a scenery that made me feel somewhat "romantic". Thank you to everyone who participated on this day! In particular, There is a 🍷✨ to Mr. Kobayashi of Hiratsuka's wine bar Binot, who has given us a great deal of cooperation from the planning stage this time The wine will be raised six months later, in December. At this year's Christmas party, a special one that has been quietly Aged on the seabed will appear in front of you. What does it taste like? I can't stop being excited! At Hokule'a Shonan, it will not end with "just a diving experience" from now on. We would like to propose a "little special sea trip". ▼Special thanks Instagram @shobuzawa_diving (Irisawa Diving Center) @winestore_sakae_binot (Wine Bar Binot) Information on upcoming tours and events will be introduced on the official Instagram and blog from time to time, so be sure to check it out! #SeaAgedWine #UnderwaterCellar #WineDive #OceanAging #WreckDive #HokuleaShonan #DiveJapan #UniqueExperiences #WineLovers #UnderwaterAdventure
