[English/Japanese] Tomorrow, February 22, is Cat Day. As previously mentioned, Hachioji is also a cat-friendly town. There are shelter cat cafes around Hachioji and Nishi-Hachioji Stations. There are also many cats in the Hanamachi area, which I introduced earlier, and they are loved by the locals. Today we will introduce you to "shutters with cats painted on them" in Hachioji, the first of which is located in Hanamachi. The second one is a Nepalese curry restaurant located a 2-minute walk from Nishi-Hachioji Station. Both have great designs! Tomorrow, February 22, is "Cat Day". As I mentioned before, Hachioji is also a cat-friendly city. There are protected cat cafes around Hachioji Station and Nishi Hachioji Station. In addition, there are many cats in the area around Hanamachi, which I introduced earlier, and they are loved by locals. Today I would like to introduce the "shutter with a cat drawn" in Hachioji. The first is located in Huajie. The other is a Nepalese curry shop that is a 2-minute walk from Nishi Hachioji Station. Both have wonderful designs!

I took this photo at "Aqua Park Shinagawa" near Shinagawa Station in Tokyo! !! I visited to take pictures with a friend from the photography club. A dolphin parade is being held, and dolphins fly coolly in time with the light and sound. There is no doubt that you will be attracted by the cuteness and coolness of the dolphins!!! In addition to the parade, you can also see a jungle zone and sea animals such as penguins, seals, otters, and sharks! Please visit when you go to Shinagawa Station!

Introducing the photos posted on "Everyone's Post"! This is a pickup post of the inbound tourism information SNS "Cool Japan Video". Today, I would like to introduce "Na-chan's post "Illumination of Yomiuri Land". The gorgeous and colorful illuminations are beautiful. "Yomiuri Land" is a comprehensive leisure facility that straddles Inagi City, Tokyo and Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture. There are 43 types of attractions, ranging from those that even small children can ride to screaming such as bungee jumping. Various events and collaboration events are also one of the attractions. The popular anime, Delicious Party ♡ Pretty Cure, and collaboration events with Hatsune Miku are being held. The event "Jewelmination", which is currently attracting attention, is the world's first to express the color of a gemstone with LEDs, and you can enjoy vivid illumination. (Period: Until Sunday, April 9) The collaboration between the fountain show "La Fontaine" held only for two days in winter and about 800 fireworks is a must-see. Highlights include images projected on the water screen from a huge 12-meter-high ring, 185 fountains, lasers and flames. And the fireworks in the winter sky are sure to impress. (Date: Saturday, February 11 and Saturday, February 18) The collaboration show with fireworks is only for two days, but the fountain show is still being held after that, so you can't miss it. [English/Japanese] The other day I had lunch at Hokkaido Soup Curry Workshop Seven West, a 3-minute walk from Nishi-Hachioji Station. I chose the sweet curry, but it was quite spicy and I could taste a variety of spices. The chicken on the bone, which was cooked so well that it fell apart when touched with chopsticks, was the best part. Most of the students enrolled in our school are from Southeast Asia. Almost all of them have "curry" in their countries. When I show the students how to make Japanese home-style curry, they are surprised at how different it is from their own country. And they are even more surprised when they learn that there is another type of curry in the same country, Hokkaido Curry! The other day, I had lunch at "Hokkaido Soup Curry Kobo Seven West", which is a 3-minute walk from Nishi Hachioji Station. I chose the curry sweet, but it was quite spicy and very tasty with various spices. The bone-in chicken that was so stewed that it crumbled just by touching it with chopsticks was the best. Most of our students are from Southeast Asia. In most countries there is "curry". When I teach my students how to make Japan's homely curry, they are amazed at the difference from their own country. Also, I am even more surprised to learn that there is a type of Hokkaido curry even in the same Japan!

The five-storied pagoda of Ueno park looks very beautiful in every season. Ueno park is one of the most popular spots that hardly need any recommendations yet I want to recommend it because sometimes in a rush we somehow overlook a few things or spots that's why this post. Amid the colorless nature, the red pagoda and flower-printed Japanese umbrella in front of it formed a strangely beautiful scene.
Although the pagoda is almost covered in flowers during the sakura season, once on a peony flower exhibition day when I went there I stopped after seeing such a sight.

A much less known place in Tokyo. Several tourist and local people usually visit Kama kura to see the great budha but unfortunately many of them don't know this great budha of Tokyo. This great budha of Tokyo is selected as one of the top 100 tourist spot in in new Tokyo. Additionally this is the 3rd largest bronze statue of budha in Japan. This is located in Akatsuka of Itabashi city. Almost no crowd but very well organized place. I highly recommend tourists to visit Tokyo daibutsu during their stay in Tokyo.

[English/Japanese] I would like to introduce "Nekoyaki" at a Japanese confectionery store called "Nekoma" located in "Soto Terrace," a spot that promotes traditional culture in Hachioji, which I wrote about in a previous article. This wagashi is very delicious with lots of sweet bean paste stuck inside. The face of the cat in this "Nekoyaki" is said to be modeled after a beckoning cat (cat figurine) that survived the Hachioji air raid. The beckoning cat is displayed in a store near this "Soto Terrace. There are several places and things related to the war in Hachioji. At our Japanese language school, we sometimes talk about the Hachioji Air Raid in class. Why don't you come and learn Japanese in a city with a rich history? I will introduce "Nekoyaki" at a Japanese confectionery shop called "Nekoma" in the spot "Kuwato Terrace" that transmits the traditional culture of Hachioji, which I wrote about in the previous article. This Japanese confectionery is very tasty with a lot of red bean paste inside. The face of the cat in this "Nekoyaki" is said to be modeled after the beckoning cat (cat figurine) that was burnt out during the Hachioji air raid. Maneki Neko is displayed in a shop near this "Kuwato Terrace". There are several places and things related to the war in Hachioji. Even in our Japanese school, we sometimes take up the Great Hachioji Air Raid in class. Why don't you learn Japanese in a city with a long history?

[English/Japanese] I visited Soto Terrace, a spot that opened last November to promote Hachioji's traditional culture. It is a 7-minute walk from Hachioji Station. You can reach it by passing through a small street in Hanamachi. I visited at night so it was very quiet, but I heard it is very lively on weekends and holidays with events. There is a nice store and I bought some cute sweets. I will report on the sweets I bought next time. Hachioji is an old town, so there are many events and places that convey traditional culture. I think it's a great city for foreign students to learn about Japanese culture!
