I think one of the pleasures of sightseeing in Hokkaido and Sapporo is to enjoy Hokkaido gourmet. Speaking of popular gourmet foods in Hokkaido, there are many seafood dishes such as crab, salmon roe, sea urchin, ramen, soup curry, zangi, and Genghis Khan, and you may have decided where and what to eat when you plan your trip. New Otani Inn Sapporo is also close to JR Sapporo Station, so there are many restaurants nearby. New Otani Inn Sapporo's restaurant welcomes you with the best hospitality that rivals many restaurants in Sapporo City. New Otani Inn Sapporo has a Japanese, Western and Chinese restaurant "Party & Dining Four Seasons" and a dining & café "Rendezvous Lounge". The interior of "Party & Dining Four Seasons" is made of bricks and you can enjoy a relaxing meal. We have 4 private rooms of "Acacia", "Hamanasu", "Kaede" and "Hagi", so you can eat in a private space. The à la carte menu includes beef sirloin steak, salmon rice bowl made with Hokkaido's proud seafood, and premium hamburger curry. "Rendezvous Lounge" also offers breakfast buffet menu and lunch menu. There is also a plan to dine at these restaurants when you stay. Hokuryu Town Himawari Tourism Association
Mar. 12, 2023
Nice to meet you! We are the Hokuryu Town Sunflower Tourism Association, the tourism association of Hokuryu, Hokkaido. Hokuryu, Hokkaido, lies about a two-hour drive from Sapporo and is a small town of roughly 1,600 people. Hokuryu is nationally famous for its sunflower fields, and it ranked first nationwide in the 2022 list of “Sunflower Fields You Want to Visit in Summer 2022.” Hokuryu Sunflower Village is one of Japan’s largest sunflower fields, with about two million sunflowers blooming across land roughly the size of five Tokyo Domes. During the season, about 200,000 visitors come from all over the country. From the two-story observation deck near the parking area, you can take in an endless sea of sunflowers—a perfect photo spot. Please enjoy the breathtaking panorama of yellow as far as the eye can see! The sunflowers are typically at their best from late July through mid-August, when the Sunflower Festival takes place. In 2022, attractions included a sunflower maze, a sightseeing vehicle called Sunflower号 that offered guided explanations about Hokuryu and its sunflowers, and an exhibition of rare sunflowers from around the world. While Hokuryu is known for sunflowers, you can also enjoy cherry blossoms in spring and beautiful autumn foliage. We recommend Roadside Station Sunflower Park Hokuryu Onsen for day-trip hot springs and Kompira Park for camping and outdoor barbecues. Local specialties include Hokuryu Sunflower Melon, prized for its high sugar content; the small yellow Hokuryu Himawari Suika; and Hokuryu Sunflower Oil made from locally grown sunflowers—each a perfect souvenir and a delicious treat. Alongside Hokuryu’s sunflowers, please enjoy these sightseeing spots and gourmet specialties!

[English/Japanese] The most famous gourmet cuisine in Hachioji is ramen. So well known among ramen fans that a style called Hachioji Ramen even exists, it differs from other ramen by using a generous amount of onions in the broth. In Nishi Hachioji, there is a Hachioji Ramen shop called Goemon that often has a line. It is a three-minute walk from Nishi Hachioji Station, so it is very close to the school. I tried it for the first time the other day! True to Hachioji Ramen, it was a very tasty bowl with the sweet flavor of onion. The international students at the Japanese language school love ramen. Some male students in particular eat it every day, to the point that it is one reason they gain weight. By the way, many female students tend to gain weight from eating bread. Hachioji’s most famous gourmet is ramen. So well known that there is a type called "Hachioji Ramen," it is familiar among ramen lovers. Unlike other ramen, Hachioji Ramen uses a large amount of onions in the soup. In Nishi Hachioji there is a popular Hachioji Ramen restaurant called Goemon that draws queues. It is a three-minute walk from Nishi Hachioji Station, so it is very close to the school. I tried it for the first time the other day! It was a very delicious ramen with the sweet taste of onion, just like Hachioji Ramen. The international students at the Japanese language school really like ramen. It is a "city of flowers, tastes and history" in Akkeshi Town.

We in Akkeshi Town are located in the east of Hokkaido and are surrounded by Kushiro Town, Hamanaka Town, and Shibecha.

The climate is relatively low in Hokkaido, but the snow cover remains even in spring.

Akkeshi Town faces the Pacific Ocean, Akkeshi Bay, and Lake Akkeshi, so it boasts fresh seafood.
In particular, oysters are a popular gourmet in Akkeshi, and many people come to Akkeshi for oysters for sightseeing.
Once you taste Akkeshi's oysters, you will definitely be captivated.

In addition, scallops, clams, sanma, sea urchin, squid, bokki, crab, kelp... Popular seafood that cannot be described here is landed in Akkeshi.
Please visit Akkeshi Town once and enjoy the fresh seafood!

Along with these seafood, "Akkeshi whisky" is popular.
The cool climate of Akkeshi is suitable for maturing whisky.
Drink Akkeshi whiskey with oysters caught in Akkeshi! This is the perfect combination!

We will also introduce recommended spots in Akkeshi other than gourmet.
In Akkeshi Town, there are many popular sightseeing spots such as "Akkeshi Waterfowl Observation Museum", "Cape Aikan", "Primeval Hanazono Ayamegahara", "Roadside Station Akkeshi Gourmet Park", "Konohi Park", "Akkeshi Boyodai", and "Bekanbeushi Marshland".

In particular, Kushiro Town, "Akkeshi Kiritappu Kombumori Quasi-National Park", which straddles Akkeshi Town, Hamanaka Town, and Shibecha, is a recommended tourist spot, and this park was designated as a quasi-national park by 2021 Reiwa 3.
The entire park is almost untouched, and if you go down the river by canoe, you can meet wild Yezo sika deer and sea eagles.
You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of nature throughout the year because you can see the beautiful scenery of the four seasons.

We will continue to send out attractive information such as gourmet, nature, and sightseeing in Akkeshi Town, so don't miss it!

Abashiri Tourist Association. Hokkaido's tourism PR character "Kyun-chan" came to Abashiri! Kyun-chan is an Ezonaki rabbit that lives in Hokkaido and is characterized by its ugly ears and dark eyes. To impress the feelings of what you see and touch with "Kyun" is the origin of Kyun-chan's name. In Abashiri, we boarded the drift ice breaker "Aurora" and enjoyed local gourmet, Abashiri champon, Okhotsukuzangi bowl, drift ice curry, drift ice soft, etc.!

[English/Japanese] Takaoyamaguchi Station, the entrance to the Takao Mountain climbing area, is lined with many restaurants. Tororo grated yam has long been eaten around Mt. Takao, and there are many restaurants where you can enjoy tororo cuisine. I ate grated yam on the way home from a recent excursion. Tororo has a soothing effect on a tired body. If you are tired after climbing a mountain, you should definitely try it. Takaoyamaguchi Station, the gateway to Takao Mountain hiking, is lined with numerous eateries. Around Mt. Takao, people have eaten tororo (grated yam) for generations, and many restaurants serve tororo dishes. On my way home from a recent outing, I had tororo. It helps soothe a tired body. If you feel exhausted after a hike, be sure to give it a try.

I took this at a traditional salmon shop in Murakami city, Niigata. Late fall is the season of salmon. The sunlight was like a spotlight shining on the main character of the city, salmon. Imagning the effort put into this, I could feel the pride and love for salmon of the city. They have a restaurant serving traditional salmon dishes. It's called Sennenzake Kikkawa. The waitress will explain every dish and what's unique about the salmon from Murakami city, which was really interesting.

Hachioji Ramen is a popular local ramen that Hachioji City, Tokyo is proud of. It is a light and gentle ramen based on soy sauce, and it uses chopped onions as ingredients and fat floats on the surface of the soup. Although it is made simple, it has been featured in many media, and it has become a local ramen in Tokyo, with many fans from far away as well as local Hachioji! Hachioji ramen has a long history, and more than 60 years ago, in Showa 34 1959, a certain shop that ran a delicatessen in front of Kitano Station decided to move to Koyasu Town due to relocation due to land readjustment, so I thought it would be difficult to be a delicatessen because it would be difficult to be a delicatessen. At that time, the mainstream ramen shop was a Chinese restaurant that served food delivery, so the restaurant, which specialized in ramen and tried to make a living only by selling it in-store, went through trial and error to create some characteristics. At that time, I happened to come across a ramen shop with "kizami onions" on a trip to Hokkaido. However, although the ramen I ate in Hokkaido had a good texture, the pungency of the onions could not be removed, and as a result of repeated ingenuity, I came up with the oil as a result of my devise to make a soup that somehow removed the pungent taste without spoiling the texture of the onions. The oil suppressed the pungency of the onions and enhanced the sweetness, and the prototype of today's Hachioji ramen was born.

There is a shop called 'Hachimaru Station' inside Hachioji Station that sells products made in Hachioji. Hachioji has many local specialties, but since the city covers a wide area, it's nice to be able to purchase them easily at the station like this😊 "I didn't know these products existed!" Each visit brings a new discovery.

[English/Japanese] Takohachiya is a grill shop. It sits next to Hachioji Central Library, about a six-minute walk from the school. This time I didn’t eat takoyaki but a takosen. Takosen are takoyaki sandwiched between octopus-flavored rice crackers, famous as a children’s snack in Osaka. There are many takoyaki stalls in Tokyo, but this was my first time seeing takosen sold here. The fluffy takoyaki tucked between crispy rice crackers was really delicious 😊Bangladeshi students reportedly do not eat seafood such as octopus or squid. Please be careful when recommending dishes to foreigners. Takoya “Takohachiya.” It is located alongside Hachioji Central Library, about six minutes from the school. Man that's beautiful. I read an article about this place on here as well. I really want to visit. The water is so clear it reminds me a lot of Oshino Hakkai, but I think the color of the water makes this place just a liiiiittle more beautiful. Although it's a pretty tough call lol. It's interesting how the article mentioned that the best time of year is fall to see the autumn leaves reflected on the surface of the water, but I bet spring would be just as beautiful. I guess it depends on if there's any cherry blossoms around the pond. I definitely saw maples though! I'll have to try the chimaki as well if I get the chance, I'd never heard of it until now.

・ 🗾 Qingdao Restaurant 1st time SNS → homepage. <お店の情報> The original Nagaoka ginger soy sauce ramen. There are several stores in Niigata Prefecture and one in Akihabara, Tokyo. The Miyauchi Station front store is the main store. There is a parking lot for 4 cars behind the shop. There is a ticket vending machine under the eaves of the main entrance. There is only an L-shaped counter in the store. You can draw water and leave it. The clerk was only a woman. Open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. <Point> 1 Ginger soy sauce ramen. The original Nagaoka ginger soy sauce ramen, which now has many shops in the prefecture. There are also shops outside the prefecture that serve ginger soy sauce ramen. 2 Nostalgic atmosphere. A long-established store founded in 1963. The outside and inside of the store also exude a nostalgic atmosphere. 3 Limited menu. Ramen is only ginger soy sauce ramen. There is a style that increases the amount of toppings and noodles. Except for toppings, only alcoholic beverages. It seems to go well with rice, but it is not served. < Qingdao Ramen 800 yen> Rice bowl and good ramen and good nostalgia ✨ The noodles are 175g in normal size! The flavor of ginger is addictive, and the crisp soy sauce feeling is irresistible 🤤. Homemade multi-hydrated noodles also go well with the soup. The thin char siu has a good flavor and a good 😄 texture. Spinach is a good balance! Thank you for the delicious feast ^ ^
