In Samurai Calligraphy Plan A samurai is a man of letters and a man of martial arts, studying both arts. For the Samurai, the way of literature and the way of martial arts are like two wheels on one wheel. Samurai honor, which believes that the way of literature and the way of martial arts are two sides of the same coin, aims at the path of both literature and martial arts through two experiences: Samurai tea ceremony and Samurai calligraphy. The spirit of the Samurai is a way of life and death, a way of letting go of attachment to life and living in this lifetime. Through Samurai honor, students acquire the spirit of Bushido. #calligraphy #kanji #shodo

In Hinomotoichi's Calligraphy Trial Plan, students do not pick up a brush and start writing immediately after the lesson begins.  Instead, we begin by explaining about the culture of calligraphy and the history of calligraphy in Japan. This is because it helps them to better understand the difference between Japanese calligraphy and caligraphy, which is a form of character decoration that also exists in other countries, and to appreciate the beauty of the Japanese language. #calligraphy #kanji #shodo

Chowa Town Furumachi Toyoke Grand Shrine Festival "Otaya Festival" In the festival, each district Dedication a "festival float" that expresses a scene from an old tale, legend, or historical story. The theme changes every year, and each year is expressed almost in full size using handmade dolls. Although it is called a "festival float", it is not something that is towed or carried as is commonly imagined, but a "decorative mountain" that is created on five stages around the shrine. It assimilates with the surrounding scenery and makes you feel as if you have entered the story. This year (2025), there are five venues: "Bunfuku Chagama Tightrope Walking", "Doseiji Temple: The Maiden Who Became a Great Serpent", "The Legend of the Nine-Tailed Fox (Tamamo-mae)", "Chushinzo Defeated", and "Komon Gang Traveling on Shinano Road". Held in on January 14 and 15 every year, the shrine holds a reinforcing festival, a Urayasu dance dedication, and a dedication performance of the Yanaga and Fudo Drums. Stalls are lined up around the shrine, and fireworks are set off at night.

【Explanation of swords and Samurai manners】 The relationship between the Samurai and the Japanese sword. From an early age, he learned how to use a sword and was allowed to wear a serious sword belt at the age of 15. At that time, he becomes aware of his self-respect and the responsibility of carrying a deadly weapon. The sword is the soul of the samurai and cannot be sold, even if it starves to death. #samuraisword #katana
