These are Kawazu cherry blossoms and mejiro. Kawazu cherry blossoms are early blooming cherry blossoms that begin to bloom in early February. Kawazu cherry blossoms were born from the natural hybrids of the scarlet cherry blossoms and Oshima cherry blossoms mentioned in the previous post. Since it was discovered in Kawazu Town in Shizuoka Prefecture, it was named Kawazu Sakura. The reason why Kawazu cherry blossoms bloom so early is that the early flowering time of the cold scarlet cherry blossoms, which is the source of hybridization, is said to be the early flowering time. (Since the color of Oshima cherry blossoms is pure white, the color of Kawazu cherry blossoms seems to be somewhere between Kanscarlet cherry blossoms and Oshima cherry blossoms.) ) By the way, Kawazu cherry blossoms can also be seen in Tokyo. This photo was taken in front of the Marubeni Building in Otemachi. (It's quite scattered now.) )

Introducing the photos posted on "Everyone's Post"! This is a pickup post of the inbound tourism information SNS "Cool Japan Video". Today, I would like to introduce Mr. Sasaki's post "Cherry blossoms taken from Inokashira Park Bentenbashi". The reflection of the water surface is beautiful and it is a fantastic photo. Straddling Musashino City and Mitaka City in Tokyo, Toritsu Inokashira Onshi Park is commonly known as Inokashira Park and is widely known. In the center of the park is Inokashira Pond, one of the three major spring ponds in Musashino. About 500 cherry trees are planted throughout the park, and the beautiful scenery has been selected as one of the Japan 100 best cherry blossom spots. The best time to see them is usually late March ~ early April. There are many varieties such as Kawazuzakura, Somei Yoshino, and Yamazakura, and you can enjoy various cherry blossoms such as white, bright red, and yellow. It is also lit up from 18:00 to 22:00 in the evening to coincide with the bloom. The location is near the east side of the Nanaibashi entrance. It is located in the north direction of the pond, which is also a standard spot for cherry blossom viewing, so you can easily enjoy the cherry blossoms at night. In addition to the cherry blossoms, Inokashira Park is full of attractions. The Tokyo Metropolitan Zoo "Inokashira Nature and Cultural Park" in the park is also popular with children. You can interact with guinea pigs and goats, and it is a hands-on facility with playground equipment and a sculpture garden. There are plenty of stylish cafes on the way to the park. Many shops open at 8:00 or 9:00 in the morning, so it is also recommended for mornings. ◆Inokashira Park(Metropolitan Inokashira Park)◆ 【Address】1-18-31 Gotenyama, Musashino-shi, Tokyo 【Access】 Get off at JR Chuo Line "Kichijoji" and walk about 5 minutes 【Parking lot】Available (charged)

The shooting location is Inokashira Park, which straddles Musashino City and Mitaka City in Tokyo.
Speaking of Inokashira Park, the cherry blossoms taken from Nanaibashi Bridge are famous, but this time I took this photo from Bentenbashi Bridge, which is located a little away from Nanaibashi Bridge and has little traffic.
The beauty of the stone bridge and the reflection of the cherry blossoms make you feel the spring of Japan strongly.

Introducing the photos posted on "Minna no Post"! This is a pickup post on the inbound tourism information SNS "COOL JAPAN VIDEOS". Today, I would like to introduce Yuki's post "Cherry blossoms in Shinjuku Gyoen bathed in the light of the setting sun". It is a beautiful photo of the cherry blossoms that have increased in color with the setting sun. Shinjuku Gyoen, which straddles Shinjuku and Shibuya wards in Tokyo, is a landscape garden that was born in 1906 (Meiji 39). The garden covers an area of about 58 hectares, and you can enjoy nature throughout the four seasons. In spring, it is a popular cherry blossom viewing spot where about 900 cherry trees of about 70 species are in full bloom. Since the flowering time differs depending on the type of cherry blossom, you can enjoy the cherry blossoms for a long time, from the early-blooming Kawazu cherry blossoms in January to the Yae cherry blossoms in April. Many people visit it as an oasis in Shinjuku's building district. In addition, there are restaurants, cafes, greenhouses, children's squares, etc. in the park, and there are many attractions. From late March, the cherry blossom light-up event "NAKED Sakura no Shinjuku Gyoen 2023" will be held. In collaboration with NAKED Co., Ltd., you can enjoy various light-ups, projection mapping, and cherry blossoms. 【Event Period】Friday, March 31, 2023 ~ Sunday, April 23, 2023 During the busy season when last year's cherry blossoms are in full bloom, advance reservations are made for admission, and although there is no announcement at this time, there is a possibility that the same will be made in 2023. It is a good idea to check in advance on the Internet. ◆Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden◆ 【Address】〒160-0014 11 Naito-cho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 【Access】 About a 5-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line "Shinjuku Gyoenmae Station" Exit 1 【Parking lot】Available (Please check the official website for details.) )

[English/Japanese] The most famous gourmet food in Hachioji is ramen. It is so well known among ramen lovers that there is even a type of ramen called "Hachioji Ramen. Unlike other ramen, "Hachioji Ramen" uses a large amount of onions in its broth. In Nishi-Hachioji, there is a Hachioji Ramen restaurant called "Goemon" where people stand in line. It is a 3-minute walk from Nishi-Hachioji Station, so it is very close to the school. I tried it for the first time the other day! It was a very tasty ramen with the sweetness of onion, just like "Hachioji Ramen". The international students at the Japanese language school like ramen very much. Some of the male students in particular eat ramen every day, and it is one of the reasons for their weight gain. (By the way, many female students get fat from eating bread.) [English/Japanese] The other day I had lunch at Hokkaido Soup Curry Workshop Seven West, a 3-minute walk from Nishi-Hachioji Station. I chose the sweet curry, but it was quite spicy and I could taste a variety of spices. The chicken on the bone, which was cooked so well that it fell apart when touched with chopsticks, was the best part. Most of the students enrolled in our school are from Southeast Asia. Almost all of them have "curry" in their countries. When I show the students how to make Japanese home-style curry, they are surprised at how different it is from their own country. And they are even more surprised when they learn that there is another type of curry in the same country, Hokkaido Curry! The other day, I had lunch at "Hokkaido Soup Curry Kobo Seven West", which is a 3-minute walk from Nishi Hachioji Station. I chose the curry sweet, but it was quite spicy and very tasty with various spices. The bone-in chicken that was so stewed that it crumbled just by touching it with chopsticks was the best. Most of our students are from Southeast Asia. In most countries there is "curry". When I teach my students how to make Japan's homely curry, they are amazed at the difference from their own country. Also, I am even more surprised to learn that there is a type of Hokkaido curry even in the same Japan!

The five-storied pagoda of Ueno park looks very beautiful in every season. Ueno park is one of the most popular spots that hardly need any recommendations yet I want to recommend it because sometimes in a rush we somehow overlook a few things or spots that's why this post. Amid the colorless nature, the red pagoda and flower-printed Japanese umbrella in front of it formed a strangely beautiful scene.
Although the pagoda is almost covered in flowers during the sakura season, once on a peony flower exhibition day when I went there I stopped after seeing such a sight.

A much less known place in Tokyo. Several tourist and local people usually visit Kama kura to see the great budha but unfortunately many of them don't know this great budha of Tokyo. This great budha of Tokyo is selected as one of the top 100 tourist spot in in new Tokyo. Additionally this is the 3rd largest bronze statue of budha in Japan. This is located in Akatsuka of Itabashi city. Almost no crowd but very well organized place. I highly recommend tourists to visit Tokyo daibutsu during their stay in Tokyo.

[English/Japanese] I would like to introduce "Nekoyaki" at a Japanese confectionery store called "Nekoma" located in "Soto Terrace," a spot that promotes traditional culture in Hachioji, which I wrote about in a previous article. This wagashi is very delicious with lots of sweet bean paste stuck inside. The face of the cat in this "Nekoyaki" is said to be modeled after a beckoning cat (cat figurine) that survived the Hachioji air raid. The beckoning cat is displayed in a store near this "Soto Terrace. There are several places and things related to the war in Hachioji. At our Japanese language school, we sometimes talk about the Hachioji Air Raid in class. Why don't you come and learn Japanese in a city with a rich history? I will introduce "Nekoyaki" at a Japanese confectionery shop called "Nekoma" in the spot "Kuwato Terrace" that transmits the traditional culture of Hachioji, which I wrote about in the previous article. This Japanese confectionery is very tasty with a lot of red bean paste inside. The face of the cat in this "Nekoyaki" is said to be modeled after the beckoning cat (cat figurine) that was burnt out during the Hachioji air raid. Maneki Neko is displayed in a shop near this "Kuwato Terrace". There are several places and things related to the war in Hachioji. [English/Japanese] I visited Soto Terrace, a spot that opened last November to promote Hachioji's traditional culture. It is a 7-minute walk from Hachioji Station. You can reach it by passing through a small street in Hanamachi. I visited at night so it was very quiet, but I heard it is very lively on weekends and holidays with events. There is a nice store and I bought some cute sweets. I will report on the sweets I bought next time. Hachioji is an old town, so there are many events and places that convey traditional culture.
