The scenery changes even more from the entrance of the sanctuary of Mt. Takao, Joshinmon. Joshinmon is a torii gate in the form of "Ryobe torii". Mt. Takao Yakuoin is a temple, but there is a torii gate and other Shinto-Buddhist customs. In the past, shrines and temples were not separated, so I think that Mt. Takao is not something special, but that this is what it should be. In the Shinhendo Hall near the Jōshinmon Gate, the Great Bodhisattva Performer is enshrined. If you walk a little past the Shinhendo Hall, you will find "Otokozaka" and "Onnasaka". Onnozaka is gentle, but men's slope has 108 steps. 108 is the number of disturbing emotions.
