Kyoto Yamashina Suishinin Temple Hana no Ma♪ Let's go to Kyoto. (February 2, 2026 – March 13, 2026)

The "Hana no Ma" at Suishinin Temple transforms a space usually used as the Noh room into a vivid floral display for a special event. Held annually in honor of Ono no Komachi, a Heian-period poet often counted among the world’s three great beauties, the display offers visitors soothing beauty and moving impressions.

Meigetsuin Temple, famous for its hydrangeas

This temple in the historic city of Kamakura also offers spectacular autumn foliage.

Especially from the Satori Window, the view of the autumn leaves captures a timeless sense of old Japan.

Korankei’s autumn leaves, said to be the best in the Tokai region.

I love this view and often linger, but when the light comes in it fills with many people.
I waited until the crowd thinned to take these photos.

Horyuin Temple is close to Higashiyama’s famous autumn foliage sites like Ginkaku-ji Temple, the Philosopher's Path, Anrakuji, and Eikando Temple, yet it sees few tourists; in the early morning you can enjoy quiet moments and even have this painterly gradation of autumn colors all to yourself.

The charm of Horyuin Temple lies in its moss and thatched gate.
From the approach, the gradation of autumn colors seen beyond the thatched gate looks like a painting framed by the gate.

Gionji Temple is famous as a Kyoto spot for autumn leaves not because of the crimson beauty of the trees themselves, but for the way the fallen leaves form a truly red carpet across the moss as they drop.

These photos were not taken this year, but they were shot in the Tenryu-ji Temple Garden in Kyoto.
I pressed the shutter because I thought the dragonfly's wings reflected on the railing looked beautiful in the sunlight. It reminds me of the lingering heat and the atmosphere as autumn truly begins to arrive.

Today, the Kawagoe Tea Festival in Rinsinji Temple is running until 3:00 PM.
I bought Chabudai’s chai and a Taiwanese castella from Sweets Workshop Hiro. 😊☕️

Because the weather was fine, everyone enjoyed the brightly colored maple leaves from early morning🍁

Notice of the Special Exhibition of the Treasure Hall at Hyuga Yakushi
This fall, an exhibition will specially display precious temple treasures that delve into the history of Hyuga Yakushi.
Organized by the Isehara City Council for Preservation and Use of Local Cultural Properties, the exhibition centers on the city-designated cultural property, the woodblock printing plate of the Den Myosawa Fudo (Den Myosawa Fudōson), and generously exhibits many temple treasures that are not usually on view.
Come and see for yourself the breath of a long history and the crystallization of faith and craftsmanship that have been passed down.
