Atami Station, operated by JR East and opened in 1925 (Taishō 14), celebrated its 99th anniversary yesterday on Monday, March 25. On the previous day, Sunday, March 24, a high-grade train not normally in regular service—the E655 series “Nagomi” (all seats are Green Car specification)—made a round trip between Shinagawa Station and Atami Station, carrying 105 passengers to Atami. Went to Venus Fort in Odaiba. Was a really cool atmosphere and not very crowded at all. Lots of cool stuff to see and shopping as well. Went to a Hokkaido-style Izakaya afterwards. The zangi was really crispy and everything tasted great.

The Tadami Line runs along the Tadami River in Fukushima Prefecture. It was a healing time when only the sound of the train could be heard in the quiet hours of a cold winter morning.
