Kumamoto Amakusa Reihoku Tourism Association

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Amakusa Area designation within Unzen-Amakusa National Park on July 20, 2026, the two-day cycling event "Amakusa Round! Amaichi Granfondo 2025" will be held in Amakusa 🚴
Granfondo is an Italian term for long-distance cycling events. Rather than racing the clock, participants ride at their own pace, enjoy rest and meals at aid stations, and take in spectacular views on this relaxed cycling event♪

Event Overview
Dates: December 13 (Sat)–December 14 (Sun), 2025
Location: Amakusa area, Kumamoto Prefecture (Amakusa City, Kami-Amakusa City, Reihoku)
Capacity: Up to 200 riders per day, totaling 400 riders over two days. Applications accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Courses:
(1) Shimashima Trial Course
Saturday, December 13, 2025. Start and finish at Tomioka Port in Reihoku. A roughly 140-km route around Amakusa Shimashima (Amakusa City and Reihoku) for 30 riders experienced in cycling around the Amakusa area.
(2) Shimashima Main Course
Saturday, December 13, 2025. Start and finish at Tomioka Port in Reihoku. A roughly 80-km route around Amakusa Shimashima (Amakusa City and Reihoku) for 170 riders.
(3) Kamishima Course
Sunday, December 14, 2025. Start and finish at the Hiwado Regional Promotion Center, Kami-Amakusa City Hall. A roughly 80-km route around Amakusa Kamishima (Amakusa City and Kami-Amakusa City) for 200 riders.

太陽の塔内部は、入館できる人数と時間に制限があるため、入館は原則予約優先（前日までの予約、ただし当日でも空きがあれば当日券を販売し入館可能）となっております。

1970年に行われた日本万国博覧会のシンボル「太陽の塔」。その内部はしばらく非公開となっていましたが、改修工事を重ね、2018年3月より内部公開が再スタートされました。
太陽の塔内部では、原則として1階部分（地底の太陽ゾーンおよび生命の樹の1階展示フロア）のみ撮影が可能です。
上層階へのルートでは、安全上の観点から撮影機材の落下防止のため、スマートフォンなどをカバンにしまう必要があります。ただし、有料の専用スマホケースをレンタルすると、上層階でも安全に撮影を楽しめるようになります。
太陽の塔内部で利用できる撮影用スマホケースのレンタル料金は、1個あたり500円です。現金での支払いが必要です。

These photos were taken last week at Otanoshike Coast. The light brings out even more beauty, making it truly lovely✨ By the way... can you read the name of the beach? A walk tour on the early morning of February 14 under thin clouds with drifting snow! A walk tour on the early morning of February 14 under thin clouds with drifting snow!
Through gaps in the clouds we saw the rising sun, creating a magical view♪
It was a relatively mild −13°C, but we still observed rime ice and red fox paw prints 🐾🦊♪
We even spotted an inverted frost flower emerging from a crack in the ice ❄

2/15（日）に幕別町・忠類で「第43回ナウマン全道そり大会」が開催されます😊

ダンボール製のオリジナルそりで滑走し、そり本体の出来栄えとゴールまでのタイムを競う「一般部門」の他、「小学生スピード部門」「親子スピード部門」も行います🎵

その他にも、忠類丸山の埋蔵金伝説にちなんだ「埋蔵金拾い」を行ったり、そり大会の楽しい思い出を投稿するフォトムービーコンテストも開催されます✨

You’re more likely to spot it on cold mornings. You might see it around Nusamai Bridge, Kusuri Bridge, and Asahi Bridge. The beautiful scenery makes the cold disappear‼ Enjoy the magical winter of Kushiro in February to the fullest✨

●蓮の葉氷in釧路川●
本日の釧路川、沢山の蓮の葉氷が浮かんでいました。
様々な条件が重なり起こる現象なので、時間帯によっては見れない事もあり、
発見すると嬉しくなってしまいます☺
今年は例年より多く目にしている気がしますー。
気温が低い午前中の発見率が高いです。
幣舞橋、久寿里橋、旭橋の辺りで見る事ができるかも。
美しい景色に寒さも吹き飛びます‼
幻想的な2月の釧路の冬を余すことなく楽しんでください✨
