The season has come again for carp streamers to flutter over Iwamoto Bridge! Iwamoto Bridge, a designated Important Cultural Property of Kumamoto Prefecture, measures 32 m in length and 4 m in width. This rare stone arch bridge was built in the Edo period by double-stacking cut rock from Aso gyotan-ishi. It spans the Sekigawa River on the border between Arao City and Omuta City and is affectionately known locally as an eyeglass bridge. The chrysanthemum crest carved in relief on the west-facing exterior is famous. It is said to be the work of Hashimoto Kangoro, a master builder from Yatsushiro who constructed many renowned bridges in the early Meiji era, including the Nijubashi at the Imperial Palace. The bridge is well preserved and you can walk across it. Raising date: Saturday, April 5 (If it rains, the event will be postponed by one week) Period: Saturday, April 5 to mid-May Location: Iwamoto Bridge 182-2 Kamiede, Arao City, Kumamoto Prefecture 864-0013

During Golden Week, colorful Carp streamers appear in front of the main entrance on the first floor of Tokyo Tower. Carp streamers began when they decorated streamers in the shape of carp in hopes of the healthy growth of boys during the Dragon Boat Festival, but 333 Carp streamers were displayed to match the height of Tokyo Tower at 333m. It is spectacular to see them fluttering in the wind and swimming in the sky in unison.

GW Tokyo Tower. GW: Tokyo Tower, which has been around for a long time, is full of children and foreign tourists, including the surrounding parks. On this day, the wind was calm and many tourists climbed the stairs of the tower on foot, making it lively. … But it's calm, so the energy of the Carp streamers is not good ... However, even if the wind doesn't blow much, if you tilt the camera to the side, the carp will climb the tower energetically, not just the carp waterfall climbing.

Tochigi City was called the commercial capital of the northern Kanto region. It is also known as Little Kyoto. It is also the birthplace of Yuzo Yamamoto, who wrote children's novels such as Roadside Stone. I've always been my favorite author, so I feel a connection to living here. The Uzumagawa River flows through the center of the town, and sightseeing boats also depart. Especially the carp streamers in May are famous. On the morning of May 10, when I stopped by on my way home from work, I found carp streamers still swimming in the May wind. The carp streamers reflected in the water are also wonderful. I felt joy and joy.
