The 49th Umaissho “Shintoku” Heavy Snow Festival This event has arrived again this year! The Heavy Snow Festival is a food celebration where you can eat and buy Shintoku’s high-quality vegetables and soba. The big draw is the all-you-can-stuff local vegetables (500 yen) and freshly harvested, freshly ground, freshly made, and freshly boiled new-season Shintoku soba. You’ll also find fresh fruit brought from Shintoku Town’s sister city, Higashine City in Yamagata Prefecture. On the stage there are magic shows and live performances, and if you buy meat at the venue you can borrow charcoal and a grill free of charge to enjoy a BBQ.

"Shintoku Jinja-yama DE Spring Festival" will be held. On Sunday, April 28th at 10:00 AM, the "Shintoku Jinja-yama DE Spring Festival" will take place on Shintoku Jinja-yama (the event will proceed in light rain and be canceled in severe weather). The day will feature performances by a brass band and a magic show, as well as food trucks, stalls from local shops, a candy toss, and a raffle, so please come and join us. Also, from Thursday, April 25th through Wednesday, May 10th, Shintoku Jinja-yama will host the "Shintoku-yama Jinja Night Cherry Blossom Light-Up," illuminating about 2,300 Ezo-yamazakura cherry trees from around the shrine office up the stairway into the precincts and nearby the shrine.
