On November 19, we held the fourth workshop to develop a sightseeing walking route that lets visitors enjoy “Reihoku’s Literary Treasures,” turning the literary spots and heritage remaining in Reihoku into new tourist resources. This was the final workshop in the series, and once again we exchanged opinions with participants on the draft route and the proposed guide manual created from the feedback and ideas we had received so far. We also had participants read works related to Reihoku—Fumiko Hayashi’s Amakusa Sea and Ryotaro Shiba’s Kaido wo Yuku 17—so they could experience how the literature’s content still connects to Reihoku today.👏 Going forward, we will aim to develop this into an actual tourism tour! We will post progress updates on this website, so please look forward to them.♪ ※We are also soliciting ideas and useful information for the walking route from those who could not attend the workshop. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Amakusa area designation within Unzen-Amakusa National Park on July 20, 2026 (Reiwa 8), the two-day cycling event "Amaichi Grand Fond 2025: Around Amakusa" will be held 🚴 Grandfond, an Italian term for long-distance cycling events, is not about racing against the clock. Riders go at their own pace, enjoy rest stops and meals at aid stations, and take in spectacular views along the way.
