This is the Daigoji Buddhist temple in Kyoto. This photo highlights the contrast between the warm red temple and the chilly winter breeze. It really gives off the winter vibe as you stare in awe at the beauty of this scene. One is left seeking solace in their worship as the snow descends outside, covering everything.

This is a photo of my visit to Zenmineji Temple in Rakusai, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture.

A carpet of autumn leaves seen at Hondoji Temple in Matsudo City. The world colored in red was very beautiful and impressive.

It is a national treasure in Bungotakada City, Oita Prefecture, and the autumn leaves of Fukiji Temple are lit up.

Just a smaller post today. A photo that I took in Asakusa before the pandemic broke out. I remember eating some delicious ramen in the area as well. Hoping that everything returns back to normal by new years. Would love to visit Sensoji Temple this year if possible. Or at least some other shrine within range for Hatsumode. I still need to climb Mt. Fuji as well, but maybe in a couple more years. As long as I do it before I can't walk anymore lol

Autumn of Japan. Yanagitani Kannon's water shed for autumn leaves. It was a moment when I was moved by the fact that the taste of collecting colorful autumn leaves and delighting the eyes of visitors is the very spirit of hospitality unique to Japan people.

Some more photos I took at Todaiji Temple. The first statue is of Vaisravana (多聞天/毘沙門天), another of the Four Heavenly Kings, holding a staff and some sort of small pagoda,. The second statue is Cintamanicakra (如意輪観音), a bodhisattva. The third photo is a (unfortunately poor quality) photo of Vairocana, the Cosmic Buddha from my understanding. The rest of the photos are models of Todaiji's Great Buddha Hall from 800 and 300 years ago, and Nandai-mon, the Great South Gate. The pagoda is, from my understanding, a replica of one of the lost pagodas that used to be located at Todaiji Temple, but I believe was burnt down? I could be wrong about that though. Then last is a photo of the heads of Virudhaka (増長天)(left), and Dhrtarastra (持国天)(right), two of the Four Heavenly Kings. Lots of cool stuff to be seen at Todaiji! Definitely recommend it. My photos don't do it justice at all.

I found some photos of when I visited Todaiji Temple. I took a photo of the bronze lantern out front of the temple because I thought it looked really cool, but it's pretty crazy to think that the lantern is around 1,300 years old at this point. I also took some photos of a few of the statues inside the temple, the first being Akasagarbha (虚空蔵菩薩), one of the Eight Great Bodhisattva, and the second (which took me forever to find the name of...) being Virupaksa (広目天), one of the Four Heavenly Kings. I'm not sure what Virupaksa is made of but I think this statue is made of wood, although I could be wrong. It looks like a different material from the other statues inside the temple, although it's been quite a while since I visited and I can't recall exactly. All the statues are really awesome though. I'll have to upload some more photos later!

Wow, there's so many awesome photos being posted today. I don't have any autumn related photos to share myself, unfortunately lol. I did take a photo of a building near Tokyo Tower though. I'm not sure what the name is, I didn't get the chance to look and then kanji are too small for me to read in this photo, but it reminded me of Todaiji in Nara prefecture. I think it's related to a temple or maybe a shrine, I'm not sure. The building seemed really massive though, and the people walking in front of it looked like ants lol. If anyone knows the name of this building I'd appreciate it if you told me! I'd like to go back to Nara actually this fall and see all the temples and deer again and even take some photos of the autumn leaves but I'm not sure I'll get the chance to do so unfortunately. I guess I'll just be living vicariously through everyone else's photos for the time being!

= Moss temple "Saiyoshiji" with autumn rain = Saihoji Temple is also famous for having the first dry landscape water in the Japan by Yumesoku Kokushi. After copying the sutra in the morning, you can slowly go around the garden. The gardener carefully removed the autumn leaves on the moss without fail. It was a morning with frequent light rain, so the red and green growing in the dim scenery and the sounds I heard were very wonderful, and I felt that I would like to go again.

Lots of awesome photos being posted today. It's kind of making me jealous with how beautiful they all are. I went for a walk today and took a picture somewhere along the Arakawa River. I'll have to try and walk it all the way to Kitasenju someday lol. That or maybe take it all the way to Chichibu in Saitama. I know it's a really long river. I don't think I could make it that far though sadly. Kind of disappointed that summer is basically over already but at the same time I'm excited for the autumn colors this fall. Hopefully I can get out and visit some temples and shrines out in the countryside or something. I saw some photos like that mostly in Kyoto but I'm sure there are some places nearby Tokyo or in the Kanto region in general where I can see some nice scenery. If not then I'll just have to go somewhere and find it!

Adults also fall in love with Kyoto. --- Kenninji Temple. Choon Garden. They were being sucked into the garden of blue leaves.

Kenninji Temple is located about 5 minutes on foot near Gion. Located in the middle of Gion, which is full of Kyoto atmosphere, it is the oldest Zen temple in Kyoto. Maples are planted everywhere in the precincts, but the main attraction is the courtyard called Choon-teiwa. When I took the photo, it was raining. I met a pair of parents and children staring at the courtyard as it rained quietly.

Summer is hot and humid every day and sweaty. If you walk along the approach to Ohara Sansenin Temple in the direction of Shorinji Temple, you will see a vermilion bridge. The bridge over the blue leaves was really impressive. As you get closer, this place full of negative ions is truly a power spot.

There are many historical spots in Maniwa City, so please 😁 come once when Corona settles down.

Meigetsu-in Temple in Kita-Kamakura This is from the backyard. The shade of autumn leaves heals the temperature of hot Japan, Beyond the refreshing feeling, you can see the main hall with its appearance. When Corona subsides and you come to Japan, why don't you look forward to taking pictures of the round window from the front of the main hall?
