Shinano Road in the rain Bushu Highway Furuya Valleys "Otome Falls" I went there looking for a superb view in the rainy season ☂️! I have visited the Yachiho Highlands and Shirakoma Pond in Sakuho Town many times The atmosphere on a rainy day was good, so I visited to enjoy the Valleys and Fresh greenery. The stream of the waterfall and the fresh greenery are beautiful, and the rain creates a special feeling of the secluded beauty of the Valleys. Recommended!

From June 1st, Miyoshi’s summer tradition begins🌿 The Miyoshi ukai (cormorant fishing), with a history of more than 450 years, has started✨ What is ukai? Ukai is a traditional Japanese fishing method that uses cormorants to catch sweetfish (ayu). Cormorants are exceptionally skilled hunters. They dive into the water and swallow the fish whole, holding them in their throats☝️ In ukai, handlers wrap a cord around the bird’s neck so it won’t completely swallow a large ayu. The cormorant handler, called an usho, makes the bird regurgitate the fish and collects the catch. This fishing method is called ukai. What makes Miyoshi’s ukai unique? Ukai was once practiced across Japan, but today it survives as a tourist attraction in only 11 locations nationwide. One of these precious sites is Miyoshi, notable above all for the exceptional skill of its cormorant handlers✨ The cord attached to each cormorant is called a tanawa. In Miyoshi, the tanawa stretches an astonishing seven meters— the longest in Japan❗ With that extra length, the cormorants range far and wide, moving freely in every direction❗ You can witness the powerful sight of the birds hunting up close. And watching the handlers skillfully control the long tanawa is a brave, captivating sight✨ The pleasure boats we ride run alongside the cormorant fishing boats carrying the usho. That lets you see this dramatic spectacle right up close😊 This is one of the great attractions of Miyoshi’s ukai! What is the relationship between the usho and the cormorants? Some people may feel sorry that the birds are made to regurgitate the fish. The usho and the cormorants are irreplaceable partners who live and work together. The birds are treated as members of the usho’s family and cared for with great affection🌿 Cormorants are said to bond closely with people. Handlers communicate with them every day, shower them with affection🥰, and train them carefully. It is said that ukai cannot be done without a trusting relationship between the bird and the usho, so their feelings must be mutually understood for the method to work. Because the cormorants and usho fish together as a family, a strong bond forms between them. The beautiful scenes they create together in ukai are truly a sight to behold. CHECK! For more details about Miyoshi’s ukai, follow the URL link on this account♪

The cream-colored flowers of about 5 mm bloom in clusters. It looks as if a larch tree dressed in a dress. I heard that the best time to visit every year is around early ~ mid-July, but due to the high temperature, it must have bloomed all at once. In Iyo City, Ehime Prefecture, for some reason, there are many historical sites and legends related to the era of the "Minamoto Hei War". Among them, today I would like to introduce "Yamabuki Shrine". Yamabuki Shrine is a small shrine located in the mountains of Nakayama Town, Iyo City, Ehime Prefecture. It is said that this shrine was built to mourn Yamabuki Gozen, who supported the warlord Kiso Yoshinaka who was active in the Battle of Kurikara Pass during the Battle of Minamoto Taira with Tomoe Gozen. Kiso Yoshinaka raised his martial order in the Battle of Minamoto Hei, but he was accused of rebellion and defeated by Minamoto no Yoritomo. At this time, Yamabuki Gozen was left in the capital of Kyoto due to illness. When Yamabuki Gozen learns of Kiso Yoshinaka's death, he falls to Iyo City, Ehime Prefecture, relying on the connection that Kiso Yoshinaka was Iyo Mori. Yamabuki Gozen, who landed in Kaminada, Sokai Town, Iyo City, was unable to walk on his own due to illness, and his vassals tried to cross the mountain by pulling him on bamboo sticks. The Slope in the Midori district of Sokai Town, Iyo City, is called "Hikizaka", the top of the mountain is called "Tsukitaku" because he hid himself with a shield and spent the night, and the place where Gozen is said to have died and changed to a death costume is called "Costume Change Place". Local people, naïve and kind-hearted, built a five-ring pagoda as a tomb to mourn the deceased. Furthermore, in 1892 (Meiji 25) (1892), Local volunteers commissioned Choshu carpenters, who had been skilled in erecting shrines and Temple in Ehime and Kochi, to build the Yamabuki Shrine in order to prevent the Tradition and the five-ring pagoda from being treated poorly. A small shrine that you might overlook when driving in a car. Both the shrine and the pagoda are covered with moss and stand quietly and quietly. The origin of Yamabuki Gozen is unknown, but there is a theory that she was a princess of a wealthy family in the Hajigawa region of Ozu City. At the time of her birth, she was called Yamabuki Gozen, the princess of Yamabuki, because there were many Yamabuki blooming in the garden. In addition, it is said that she was a stool woman (servant, meaning beautiful woman) of Kiso Yoshinaka, but there is also a theory that she was his wife. The life of a beautiful and strong female warrior who was tossed around by the turbulent world is still being told in various parts of Japan. *Yamabuki Shrine* Address: Sareiya, Nakayama-cho, Iyo-shi, Ehime Business hours: Free prayer Car parking lot: None * If you park on Car shoulder of the road, please be careful of Car passage.

🇯🇵 Excellent Access from Tokyo! Held in PADI diving course in Nishi-Izu [English support, small group size] Implementation at Hokule'a Shonan recently held a PADI Open Water Diver Course. The locations are "Hirasawa" and "Ida" in Nishi-Izu, which can be reached on a day trip from Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture. Both are highly transparent and are perfect Spots for your first marine training. All of the guests who participated this time were beginners in diving. Scenes were nervous at first, but after a careful lecture on land, Nature was smiling by the time they entered the sea. The instructor supported me one by one and proceeded with the course calmly. 🤿 Diving is "fun and learning" In the diving course, you will practice basic skills such as breathing in water, clearing a mask, and neutral buoyancy. Even if you are a first-timer, you can rest assured that the small group size and slow pace will make you feel at ease. While experiencing buddy checks and equipment settings, you will acquire Nature and "diver thinking". Above all, the best part is that you can practice in the beautiful sea. The sea in Ida is called "Ida blue", and surrounded by clear Water and colorful fish, you will feel as if you are in another world. 🌏 Classes in English are also available. Suitable for travelers and business travelers! Hokule'a Shonan offers PADI Sense courses in English. It is also possible for those who want to obtain a Sense while traveling or business travelers who are staying for a short period of time. With a flexible schedule, you can tailor the course to your stay plan. 🚉 30 seconds walk from JR Hiratsuka Station (easy Access from Tokyo and Yokohama) 📆 Schedule request OK 👥 Peace of mind in private or small groups 🗣 English-speaking instructors 📩 The first step to the world's oceans, right here in Japan Activities can be started even if you are not a good swimmer. Water is a magical experience of breathing in the water, encounters with sea creatures, and quiet time to face yourself. Everything will be a special memory that will stay with you.
