The 3rd “Amakusa Reihoku Literary Walk” tourism route creation workshop was held🎊 On September 25, the third workshop was held in Reihoku to develop a sightseeing walking route that turns literary spots and heritage in Reihoku Town into new tourist resources, allowing visitors to enjoy the “Literary Treasures of Reihoku.”✨ This third session focused on taking a deeper look at writers connected to Reihoku Town. Participants researched as if they were actually guiding tours and presented their findings to one another. Each participant’s guide showed a unique personality, making for an absorbing time.👏 The final, fourth workshop is planned for late October to early November♪ We will hold a fun workshop to exchange opinions based on the walking route proposals and guide manual developed from previous workshops, so please join us.👀 *We plan to open applications on our website in early October.* We also welcome ideas and insider tips for route planning from those who cannot attend the workshop. Please take the survey in the notices section on our website! Contact: Amakusa Reihoku Tourism Association (Ogata) ☎0969-31-1136 *This workshop is held as part of the Kumamoto Future Creation Startup Subsidy Project for fiscal 2025.*

UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage “Ara Odori” Ara Odori was offered on September 28th 🐵 Registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, this Ara Odori captivates viewers with vivid costumes and powerful dance 👀✨ This year the event took place indoors because of rain, which concentrated the excitement! 🔥 The audience was closer to the performance, creating an even more immersive experience 👍 Supporting this tradition is the future of the community ✨ Alongside local adults, children from Sakamoto Elementary performed with serious expressions as they carry the dance forward, earning big applause 👏

Isehara Flower Report 2025.09.29 Here is today’s update on the spider lilies in Hyuga. In the Araimizu area they continue to bloom beautifully, as they did last week. If you are driving, please use the temporary parking lot at the Human Resources Development Center. The grounds of Hinata Yakushi appear to have just passed their peak viewing period. Along the walking path behind the Hinata Yakushi bus stop, the flowers have also started to fade slightly. This walking path’s gate is open from 7:00 to 17:00.

The Power of Books, the Power to Live A Project in Cooperation with Shanti Volunteer Association "The Power of Books, the Power to Live" Through books, start close to home and then look toward the world— Under that concept, with the help of two people from Myanmar who live in Nishiokoppe Village, we created translated picture books to send to Myanmar. What kind of country is Myanmar? What is its situation right now? First, we spent time learning about Myanmar. Then we held picture-book readings in Japanese and Burmese. After enjoying the differences in Burmese and Japanese pronunciation, it was time to make the translated picture books. Using a Burmese kana comparison chart, we cut and pasted Burmese translation stickers onto every page, repeating the process. At the end, they taught us how to write our own names in Burmese. Having two people who speak Burmese meant we could ask questions when we lost track of where stickers should go, and learn things that you can’t get from reading materials alone, such as stroke order. Thanks to them, we felt Burmese become more familiar to us. The translated picture books we made that day will reach Myanmar around next summer. We entrusted the books to the Shanti Volunteer Association while wondering what Myanmar will be like then and what we ourselves will be doing at that time. #Nishiokoppe Village #Hokkaido #Shanti Volunteer Association #Translated picture books #Myanmar #The Power of Books, the Power to Live #Burmese

I am a volunteer at the Osaka-Kansai Expo. I made friends through volunteering. On the 100th day of his visit, his friend decided to take a picture with the people he met through the Expo! The moon was very beautiful on such an anniversary, and it was one of the photos I took with the camera. The two of them illuminated by the moon with a large roof ring were even more wonderful, and I was happy to be able to take such a photo on a memorable day. I met many people through the Expo, and every time I went, I felt like I was traveling and had a good time. I am grateful for the wonderful encounter. Thank you for the expo (#^.^#)

I joined the Koumi Line priority-activity train “Highland Cycling Tour” As part of efforts by the Koumi Line Regional Revitalization Council, an activity-priority train runs on the Koumi Line today and tomorrow, Sunday, September 28. In line with that service, I took part in a monitored tour that started at Nobeyama Station, rode e-bikes around the Nobeyama Highlands, and headed for Kiyosato Station. https://koumilinehighlandtrain.hp.peraichi.com// I didn’t even know the difference between an electric bicycle and an e-bike, but I was impressed not only by their stylish appearance but also by the sturdy tires and suspension that made me feel I could go anywhere. These bikes felt perfect for the Nobeyama Highlands, where not all roads are paved. It was my first time bringing a bicycle onto the train and riding it, and it went more smoothly than I expected—making the experience feel somewhat special. The Nobeyama Highlands will soon be an ideal season for cycling. The tourist information center in front of Nobeyama Station also rents bicycles, so please make use of it. Note: e-bikes are not available. ▼Reserve rental bicycles here https://www.kanko-nobeyama.jp/info/?p=567/...

Nishiokoppe Village Variety Show Last year, the variety show returned after a five-year hiatus. This year, we were able to hold it successfully once again. Thank you to everyone who came out in large numbers. The performance segment was rich with acts. From children to adults taking the stage, there were fresh, uplifting performances and also V-kei band sets, letting audiences enjoy a wide range of genres. In the latter half, the karaoke segment featured a somewhat different lineup than last year, but this village truly has many talented singers…! We were captivated by the clear, expansive voices. Stalls offered food and drinks, as well as booths selling capsule toys and other playthings, plus shooting galleries and ring-toss corners. From morning until night, it was a day to fully savor the festival. #Nishiokoppe Village #Hokkaido #Variety Show #100th Anniversary of Village Founding #September 11
