Tadachi Washi Paper Making Experience 2024! The culture of "washi papermaking" has been handed down since ancient times in the Tadachi area of Nagiso Town. At that time, it was an important industry as a winter side job for farmers. Tadachi washi paper temporarily disappeared completely due to the spread of Western paper, but in order to preserve its traditional technique and make it known to many people, the towns restored the "Tadachi Washi House" in Showa 60. At the washi house, we still carry out papermaking ✨ by inheriting that technique even now Washi House is accepting winter-only "papermaking experiences"! Nature raw materials and cold water are used, so it is 👀 a valuable experience that can only be done in winter There are two types of experience menus, "postcard" and "small format"! Why don't you make a one-of-a-kind "original washi" in the world? Period: December ~ March Location: Tadachi Washi House (Tadachi 234-2, Nagiso Town) Inquiries: 0573-75-4910 (Washi House) *Reservation required For details, please check ✨ the Nagiso Tourism Association Home page "Burari Nagiso"

On this day, the gluttonous Kasai visited a Japanese confectionery shop that I had been interested in for a long time! It is "Koshido" in Suehiro, Suwa City. We interviewed President Kurita about his story. It is a long-established Japanese confectionery store that has been in business for 99 years since 1925 (Taisho 14)!! The current president seems to be the third generation. It just so happened that five days before I visited, a Local newspaper published an article saying that the hanging paper and stickers of Koshido's Standard products were designed by students of the Local Suwa Industrial High School. Even in the midst of history, I was fascinated by such a flexible place, and I made an appointment. According to the president, there used to be 60~70 stores in the Suwa City Confectionery Association, and there were Member stores stores in the city alone, but now there are only 17 stores. I wanted to pass on to future generations the culture of Japanese sweets that my ancestors left behind. I myself love bean paste, and I have always liked Japanese sweets. On this day, you can enjoy Japanese sweets in all four seasons I was able to learn anew!! Sakura mochi and Kashiwa mochi in Spring, peony mochi and hagi in Ohigan, pig mochi and tsutsugayu in autumn... I would like to introduce you to very delicate and delicious Japanese sweets! ◎ Koshido 📍 Suwa City Nagano Prefecture Suwa City Suehiro 12-12-9 ☎0266-52-0920 ◎ Business hours: 9:00 ~ 18:00 ◎Regular holiday : Closed on Wednesdays ◎ Online shop : www.okashi-net.com/mall/koshido/ This day, I went to Koushi-dou. It is traditional Japanese dessert shop in Suwa city. Mr. Kurita is president and craftsman at the shop. His shop started 99 years ago. He is a third-generation. In Nov, 9th, I saw article at newspaper about his shop. Suwa jitsugyou high school students designed for his product’s sticker. He told me, long time ago was 60 – 70 traditional Japanese sweets shop was here in Suwa city. But now are only 17 shops… I think I need to such great tradition to pass down to future generations!!! I didn’t know we can enjoy traditional Japanese sweets each four seasons!!! Can you believe it? It is true!!! In this autumn Dango, Inoko-mochi, Tsutsugayu. In spring, Sakura-mochi, Kashiwa-mochi and so on. I still need study about Japanese traditional sweet. I will write about each season’s Japanese traditional sweet continue from now! ◎ KOSHIDO 📍 Suehiro12-12-9, Suwa city, Nagano Pref, Japan ◎ Tel: 0266-52-0920 ◎ Business hours: 9:00 ~ 18:00 ◎ Regular holiday: Closed on Wednesdays ◎ Online shop: www.okashi-net.com/mall/koshido/

【 Towns where you can meet red-crowned cranes, Taiki Town 】 In Taiki Town, there are many red-crowned cranes, a special natural monument of the country. The most common season is autumn, just around this time. You can often see them looking for food in the fields after the crops have been harvested. The location gives the impression that it is more common on the sea side than on the mountain side. Please look for it! By the way, the small bird in the middle of the first photo is not a red-crowned crane, but a crowned crane. It is also attractive that various kinds of creatures can be seen together in Taiki Town ✨
