[Woodworking instructor and box making]

Box-making class by woodworking instructors.

This is a woodworking instructor who came to Nishiokoppe Village from April last year.

We often meet and talk
Since there are not many opportunities to witness woodworking instruction, I decided to Visiting the site of a box-making class.

The necessary materials and tools are wooden boards, woodworking bonds, nails, and genno.
The box is the perfect size for a pen stand.

The four planks on the sides have grooves to fit the bottom plate.
Moreover, there was even a hole for the nail in the place where the nail was hammered.
(Squid with this hole, you can see where to drive it & the nail is stable, so it is easy to drive)

Even if it is a simple box, without such care
It makes a big difference in how easy it is to work.

This time, I made a box that dared to go through the process of hammering nails so that I could get used to handling the genkan.

When the boards are bonded together to form a box, nails are hammered to fix the boards together.

It is quite difficult to hammer the nails straight and to hammer the boards so that they do not shift from each other. The woodworking instructor did it lightly, "Ton, ton, ton," so I was watching it while thinking that it was really good.

Somukan (Workshop that Village residents can use for free!) ) and finish such as sanding, and you're done.

【Hinata Yakushi Hojobo First Yakushi Honzon open to the public】2025
On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, the "First Yakushi" was held at Hinata Yakushi, one of the "Three Yakushi of Japan", to pray for a disease-free life and family safety this year.
In the Precincts, "Yakushi porridge" made with vegetables and rice cakes grown in Isehara City was also served, and many visitors visited.
In addition to the first Yakushi on this day, the Honzon of the Nationally Designated Important Cultural Property and the Yakushi Sanson Statue are opened to the public only on the third day of the New Year and on the fifth day of the year during the Spring Annual Grand Festival.
